The Rural TUFF House is a beautiful home from 1920, just a few blocks from downtown Emporia. This old home has recently undergone updates to restore its charm and character, and is situated in a perfect location for gravel cyclists, ESU visitors, disc golfers, corporate meetings, and guests visiting town. With 3 bedrooms and 5 beds, this home is family-friendly. The space This warm and cozy space consists of a porch with swing & seating, as well as a back patio with BBQ grill. Inside you can enjoy a large living room and dining room with TV & wifi, which connects to a very large kitchen, mud room with laundry, and small bathroom. The downstairs bedroom is off the living room, and does have a door to the upstairs. (Note: guests staying upstairs will go through this room to access upstairs, but there is a door to provide all groups privacy, see images.) Upstairs there is a bedroom on the right with queen bed, and a bedroom with adjoining sunroom on the left. This larger room has 1 queen and 2 twin beds. Between the 2 rooms is a fun and funky full bathroom with tub and shower. Guest access Guests can enjoy the whole home, as this is a dedicated Airbnb. Please note that there are 3 steps you need to walk up to get into the home at both the front and back entrances. Basement is accessed from an exterior entrance if needed. Other things to note This home was previously listed as the "Little House on Rural" and was bought by Amanda and Dave Sheek as a home base for their Kansas TUFF Ventures. We are continuing the listing as it was previously set up. We're here to be in the center of the Gravel Capital of the World, but we're happy to welcome you for whatever Emporia adventures you have in store. Emporia and the Flint Hills have a special place in our hearts and we hope your stay here brings you fond memories. This is an old home, and while restored and beautiful, its old charm comes with old nuances. There is a small toilet-only bathroom off the kitchen, and a full bathroom upstairs. The upstairs tub was updated to offer a shower head. There are outlets in inconvenient places in some rooms, but we have updated the electrical in the upstairs sunroom. We have also provided power strips, extension cords and charging sources to makes this more convenient for you. There is a window AC unit in the upstairs sunroom for the summer months as the sun comes through there in the first half of the day. All the beds are encased with mattress protectors and all the pillows are wrapped with Allerease Pillow Protectors. You will hear wayside train horns in Emporia at all hours of the day, so we have provided box fans and air purifier machines in the upstairs room and living room to help filter out some of the noise.
