While our main focus is to offer our guests comfortable lodging at the lowest rate possible, with as many amenities as we can provide in our units, please understand that we face limitations in acquiring many items on the island. Culebra is a pristine, undeveloped destination, offering a more rustic experience without the luxuries and amenities found in many other tourist spots. It’s perfect for travelers who appreciate and cherish the natural beauty of the land and sea, rather than seeking a luxurious getaway. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The property is perched on a hill, and that elevation is exactly what gives you those incredible panoramic views that make this stay so magical. Because of this hillside location, the driveway and parking area are on a steep incline. Golf carts can make it up, but we highly recommend renting a standard vehicle. It not only makes getting to the house easier, but also allows you to explore the island more comfortably, especially if you're planning to visit Culebra’s stunning beaches. In case of rain, a vehicle also keeps you dry and safe, and many of the island’s roads are simply not golf-cart friendly, particularly in more remote or uneven areas. Guest access There are stairs to access the apartment. This apartment is located in the third floor. This is a private apartment with its large private balcony. There is parking in front of building. You will receive a message with your arrival instructions and door code on your check-in date. These instructions will be emailed to you once housekeeping has confirmed the unit is clean and ready for your stay. Check-in: After 4:00 PM Check-out: Before 11:00 AM If you happen to arrive in Culebra before your check-in time, we kindly ask that you refrain from visiting the property until you have received the notification, as this ensures the comfort of our current guests and allows our housekeeping team to complete their work uninterrupted. Please note that, due to the unique nature of Culebra Island, Google Maps and the Airbnb mapping system may not provide precise directions to the property. Other things to note Culebra is experiencing a significant influx of visitors, placing considerable strain on the island's water supply system. The outdated and fragile infrastructure, coupled with the high demand for water, often results in low water pressure, particularly in elevated areas such as hills and mountains. This issue is most noticeable in the late afternoon, after visitors return from the beach and begin using water simultaneously for showers and other activities in preparation for the evening. We have observed that this issue typically starts around 3:00pm and resolves after 7:00 pm. You may experience these pressure fluctuations during peak hours. Low water pressure significantly impacts an on-demand water heater by causing a weak or slow water flow. NOTE: Puerto Rico (including Vieques and Culebra) have been experiencing intermittent power outages due to its frágil electrical grid and the constant repairs being made to the main power infrastructures which is located in the main island (Puerto Rico). Culebra power comes from main island of Puerto Rico, via underwater cables. Typically for Culebra, power outages do not last that long since the island has its own power generators that turn on when the main power grid fails. Generators are turned on once the cause of the outage is determined for the safety of the residents.
