Dreamer’s Lodge

Hungry Mother State Park—Located beside Hungry Mother Creek and adjacent to Clyburn Ridge Trail, Dreamer’s Lodge is a quiet get-away. Views of Mountain Laurel and Mountain Ivy, along with sounds of the creek make for great front porch sitting. Built in memory and in honor of our brother and best friend…the dreamer. The space Dreamer’s Lodge rests at the back of 3.5 acres directly across from Camp Burson, the entrance to Hungry Mother State Park. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an additional (open) Bunkroom, Living Room, Kitchen, and Laundry room comprise a little over 1000 square feet. There is a large field in front of the house, a creek beside of a long driveway perfect for kids and bicycles. Dreamer’s Lodge sleeps 6 comfortably and is part of the @ the lake properties of which there are four: Campside Cottage; The Lake House; The Berry Cabin, and Dreamer’s Lodge. Parents and guests of Emory & Henry Health Science students…we are located approximately 2 miles from the Marion campus and would love to host you for your visit! Guest access Access to the Lake Loop Trail is directly across from the property. The Clyburn Trail is adjacent to the property. If you enjoy hiking, check out the several trails at the park, including the hike to Molly’s Knob. In addition to hiking and biking the many trails at Hungry Mother, there is a beach area (with concessions) , a gift shop (inside the park and at Camp Burson), playground areas, canoe, paddleboat, paddleboard, and kayak rentals. Other things to note Downtown Marion has excellent restaurants (Mi Puerto, Macados, Sister’s Cafe and Gifts, Sur 81…to name a few, as well as many fast food chains), and shopping (Blue Ridge Outfitters, Marion Outdoors, Army/Navy Store, Just Believe Boutique, and others). Take in a movie or a game of putt-putt at Park Place Drive-In. Grab an ice cream at Park Place or a homemade dessert at Sister’s. Enjoy some coffee and pastries at Starbucks or Better Coffee on Broad Street. Marion’s own Lincoln Theatre, one of the last remaining Mayan revival style theaters in the world, provides a variety of performing arts events. And just a short drive away…Barter Theatre, Wohlfahrt Dinner Theatre, Grayson Highlands Park (wild ponies), The Channels, The Virginia Creeper Trail, The Appalachian Trail, The Bristol Raceway.
