Sunset Haven: Rustic Cabin amidst Maine White Mts
Escape to the tranquil wilderness of Bethel, Maine, where the past meets the present in our rustic Forest Service cabin. This authentic gem, relocated from the untamed Wild River area to its current serene spot across from the Maine White Mountain National Forest Lands, promises an unforgettable getaway. This cabin allows for limited solar power and there is a privy on site. Our family cabin is just 5 minutes away from the quaint town of Bethel and we practice carry in carry out rules. This is an off grid cabin with limited solar power enough to run lights, TV with HDMI plug in, DVD, and plug in your electronics. The cabin is one large room with 7 windows and 1 door. The cabin has no heat so you must bring enough to cover up with if nights are expected to be cold. There is a 6 gallon water container that you can fill up at the Bethel spring or local stream as there is no running water at the cabin. There is an outhouse 15 feet from the main door with toilet paper available. There are 5 beds with mattresses. You must bring your own linens, blankets, sleeping bags, and pillows however there are items on site in case you forget. There are small appliances on site that cannot be used due to lack of generator power. Feel free to use any wood lying around the woods (there is plenty) to make a fire in the fire pit. Please do not use split wood in the wood shed. There are pots, pans, cups, silverware, plates, bowls, and cleaning supplies. You will have access to the wood shed, outhouse, and main cabin which are the only buildings on site. There are not any neighbors. The cabin is located on a trail that will occasionally have someone come by with a dog, bike, or side by side. Most days I see 1 person go by or less. If you like to wander into the woods there is the White Mountain National Forest across the field. The other side behind cabin is 100 acree property that the owner logs and is undeveloped. Plenty of parking. 5 minute drive from Bethel and 10 to Sunday River. The cabin is located down the dirt road at the oil pipeline clearing once you reach the address. A short drive up the dirt road and you will see the cabin on the left. Please have a light available when arriving after sunset as you will need to be able to see the lock box and locks.
