Meadowside is set within our family homestead before entering the village of Framfield, situated in The Weald, on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so there are plenty of wonderful walks right on our door step. Our local pub ‘The Hare & Hounds’ serving good pub food at affordable prices (booking advised) is a short walk away. Further amenities available from Uckfield just under 2 miles away. The space The detached lodge comprises open living/dining/kitchen area, large utility & bedroom with ensuite wc, separate bathroom with shower, wc & sink. Fitted out with everyday appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, microwave, kettle & toaster. Cooking is via an electric oven and 2 ring electric hob. Guest access Guest will have access to the entire lodge and patio and are welcome to walk down to the lake to enjoy a relaxing afternoon watching the wildlife. Free parking on site. Other things to note Meadowside is equidistant (30 minutes) from the City of Brighton and Eastbourne, both on the coast and the Spa Town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Lewes, County Town of Sussex is 20 minutes south. All worth exploring. Drive 20 minutes and you will be on the Ashdown Forest, the largest public space in the South of England covering 6,500 acres and home to Winnie The Pooh. The South Downs Way is 100 miles long and can be accessed at various points by driving there. Go south to the chalk downland, picturesque villages, vineyards and iconic coastline. The world famous opera house of Glyndebourne is 20 minutes away. Go a short distance on and you will find Charleston, made famous by The Bloomsbury Group in the world or art and literature. Staying with literature, Batemans, the family home of Rudyard Kipling is only 20 minutes away. Go north east and enter ‘The Garden of England’ where you will find numerous Historic castles, homes and gardens to explore including Ightham Mote, Knole, Hever Castle (childhood home of Anne Boleyn), Chartwell (family home of Sir Winston Churchill), Sissinghurst, Penshurst Place (in the same ownership since 1552) to name but a few. All within 50 minutes drive through beautiful countryside. East Sussex National Golf Resort & Spa set amongst 1100 acres of English countryside is only 6 minutes away and The Bluebell Heritage Steam Railway just 25 minutes away. Fishing can be found at Framfield Fishery set on the outskirts of the village consisting of 3 lakes, a short walk from the lodge.
