Welcome to the Draughon home, a 5 BR, 7 bed home with both historic and modern features. The home retains several of the original 1930s and mid-century features along with modern updates. There are vintage pictures displayed from broadcasting and gasoline businesses of the former residents. The home includes a sunroom, a dining room, a living room, a family room, a den, porches, and outside patio areas, all with views of farmland. There is a large master bathroom along with other bathrooms. The space The house has over 4,200 square feet in its three levels. There are many rooms for relaxation, eating, visiting, or seeking privacy. The east downstairs bedroom has a beautiful antique bed head- and foot-board with a full size Tempur-Pedic mattress, a dresser, a closet and chair. It also has a fireplace (not usable) with a large mirror over the mantel and a primitive-style wardrobe. The west downstairs bedroom has two full-size beds, a closet, a dresser and a chair. The family room-bedroom has sofas and seating with a 65 inch smart TV. The room includes a queen-sized bed. Adjoining this room is a large bathroom with a walk-in shower, two sinks and vanities, a clawfoot bathtub, and large walk-in closet. A stacked washer and dryer is adjacent to the family room. Upstairs from the family room there are two bedrooms. One has a queen bed, a closet and dresser; a bathroom adjoins it with a lavatory and toilet. A second bedroom has two twin beds, a desk, and built in bookshelves with many books for young and old. The sunroom has a great view of the yard, an antique gasoline pump, a barn, and farmland. There are two tables that can seat up to nine people. There is an antique 'glider', or rocking sofa in the sunroom that is very comfortable. The dining room has a table that can comfortably seat ten people. The room is lit by a beautiful chandelier. Interesting features to note in the house: original 1930s lighting fixtures in bedrooms and the living room, wide molding along walls, the narrow hardwood flooring downstairs, the heart pine flooring in the kitchen, the rounded heavy wooden front door, and the double antique mailroom doors to the family room. Guest access All the bedrooms in the house are available for guests. A basement will be locked. Other things to note There are no events, parties, or gatherings of large groups of people allowed in the house or on the property. The base rate is for a group of up to eight people, but the home can have up to twelve guests. There is a $25 per person per night charge for over eight guests, with no more than twelve guests allowed. Guests must have at least one positive review before acceptance. No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the house. No cigarette butts or smoking paraphernalia are allowed to be left in the yard or outside areas. Pillow and mattresses protectors are used on the beds. Internet access is supplied. The house has two video doorbells. Sorry, but no animals are allowed. Must be at least 25 years old to book. This property requires stairs to enter and access. Please do not use the plates and dishes on the wall or behind the glass doors. In normal weather, I ask you not to park in the garage. There is no remote access to the garage doors supplied. If there is inclement weather, and someone can let you inside, you are welcome to park inside. The internet password is posted in the house.
