On the one hand, the Aegean Sea, the sky, and between them the horizon with 11 of the Cyclades islands (Syros, Kythnos, Serifos, Sifnos, Delos, Rhenia, Antiparos, Paros, Ios, Naxos) are revealed. On the other side stands the imposing rock of Xombourgo. The view from Villa Asfodelos is not obstructed by other houses. The space The villa has two comfortable bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, a bathroom, a fully equipped spacious kitchen, a very large and bright living room, broadband access, air conditioning in the bedrooms, pergolas in the courtyards. The double room has its own large balcony-courtyard. The living room is really big and bright and has a marble Syrian fireplace. From all areas the visitor can enjoy the view without interruption. Guest access Villa Asfodelos is located on a 6,000 sq.m. plot and is very easily accessible by car, for which there is a covered parking space. Guests enjoy complete privacy, as the villa is not used by others and there are no houses around the property. The stay is really quiet and refreshing. Kionia beaches are a 10-minute drive away. Agios Fokas, Agios Sostis, Agios Romanos and Kolimbithra, where there are canteens and sunbeds with umbrellas. Very close is the village of Ktikados, where one can eat at the traditional tavern Drosia or at Rakizio. Villa Asfodelos is centrally located in Tinos, ideal for daily excursions to every corner of the island. Villa Asfodelos has traditional architecture. Its decoration combines the character of simplicity and austerity that all Cycladic houses had, with luxury elements such as really large and comfortable spaces, ceilings with wooden beams and wooden lining, paved interiors and exteriors, built-in living room, stone exterior walls, stone lintels and skylights. It is the embodiment of a harmonious combination of tradition, simple luxury and enchanting views. (Please note that the provision of cleaning service during the stay is provided at the request and charge of the guests. Washing machine is not available.) Other things to note As for the view, at first glance Syros emerges to the SW and Delos and Rhenia to the SE, and when the atmosphere is clear from SW to SE, Kythnos, Serifos, Sifnos, Antiparos and Paros, Ios, Rhenia and Delos and behind them in the background, the largest island of the Cyclades, Naxos. Villa ASFODELOS is unique also because the genuine Tinian landscape stretches in front of it. One of the 50 and more beautiful villages of the island, the picturesque Ktikados is located "at its feet", next to Hatzirados and further away Kampos. Below Ktikados, Kiona emerges, a seaside settlement, from where the old Ktikadian people used to set out with their boats for fishing. Every year, in July, on the beach of Kionia, the feast of Trata revives the activities of another era. Walkers can follow the path that the villagers descended with their donkeys, to reach the shore in about an hour. A second path, equally picturesque, about the same distance as the previous one, starts from Kaloumenados and leads to Chora, at the height of Evangelistria. Part of the view of the villa is Passakrotiri, which, as its name implies, is the cape of the country from where the landscape lover can enjoy the most beautiful sunset. Among the sites that emerge, the eye of the tenant of the villa "wanders" the dry stone walls, the terraces or the bloods that the locals once built and maintained to cultivate their land, dovecotes, the Cemetery of the village, a deserted mill, the chapel of Prophet Elias on the ridge of the hill that "hides" Chora from our eyes. Finally, on the other side, from the north, the imposing rock of Xombourgo rises. From the main road, next to the cheese factory, 10 minutes from the house, a path begins that leads us to the top of the historic rock. In short, the hiking trails around Ktikados reveal the hinterland with its dovecotes, windmills, watermills, chapels, rocky mountain peaks, climbing and bouldering routes and the colorful puzzle of agricultural crops. Asphodel is a Mediterranean plant that grows in arid and rocky soil and blooms in late winter and early spring. According to Greek mythology, the Meadow of Asphodelus (Asphodelus Leimon, as Homer calls it), was one of the areas of the Underworld where the souls of common mortals went after death.
