On summer days, you can throw open the French doors to enjoy a gentle breeze from the garden while you relax, then when the temperature drops, fire up the wood burner and gather round for a board game or to chat about the day's adventures. If your aim is to see as much of the coast as possible, head to the affluent village of Rock, 7 miles away, or to the surfing havens of Polzeath (7 miles) and Newquay (18 miles) with their wide expanses of golden sands. Also, walk or cycle the Camel Trail; the 7-mile ride leads you right to the fishing port of Padstow, where you can treat yourself to some of Rick Stein's famous fish and chips. Wadebridge with its shops and cafes is just a 1-mile walk away.
