The space The cottage, which can be booked with the neighbouring property that it shares a courtyard and BBQ with, is peaceful and welcoming. The kitchen’s neutral colours and delightful tiling make it a pleasure to cook up a storm in; dine at the dining table in the open-plan living area before retiring to the sofas. Your pup will love to curl up in front of the wood burner while you watch TV or read a book at the window seat looking out at stunning views. You’ll be rushing to go to bed early to sink into the sumptuous king-size bed; wake up surrounded by tranquil, earthy tones and gaze out of the window for a while before starting your day. Enjoy a trip to Tanfield Railway (3.5 miles) which not only has the world’s oldest railway bridge but is also the world’s oldest railway! The hound can unleash it all on Ryhope Beach (23 miles) while the kids paddle in the sea or take them on a treasure hunt using the Huntfun Newcastle trail that starts at Grey’s Monument (8 miles) so you can see the sights through a child’s eyes. In the summer, try boating on the lake at Saltwell Park (6.5 miles) or simply go for walkies around this delightful example of a Victorian park.
