The space ***4 wheel or AWD suggested in winter months*** Located in peaceful Gem Village, just 3 miles from Bayfield and perfectly situated between Purgatory, Wolf Creek, and Vallecito, this is the ideal base for mountain adventures, scenic drives, hunting, fishing, hiking, or skiing. Only 25 minutes to Durango with easy access to local attractions and nearby hunting units. Ample parking, including space for trailers during boating and hunting season, makes it easy to bring your gear. Start your mornings or unwind in the evenings on the covered porch, overlooking a quiet valley of irrigated pastures. Guests always rave about the peaceful views. The porch is furnished with a table, chairs, and two cozy rocking chairs, perfect for your morning coffee or evening chats. You may even see hummingbirds if it is the right time of year. Inside, the fresh, clean, and comfortable studio invites you to settle in. The well-equipped kitchen features updated appliances, great lighting, and a dining table for four that connects the kitchen and living area, ideal for gathering with family or friends. You’ll even catch glimpses of the scenic views right from the table. A fully stocked coffee bar with a Keurig (single-serve and carafe), electric kettle, coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, honey, and hot cocoa adds a warm, personal touch. The cozy living space includes a smart TV (just log in with your own accounts), a selection of board games, and even coloring books for the kids—perfect for a relaxed evening in. The bedroom hosts two king beds with memory foam mattresses, bedside tables with charging ports, and a second smart TV. Whether you’re here for adventure or a quiet getaway, this is the perfect home base. Guest access You’ll have the whole studio guesthouse to yourselves, but will see us around the property. You’ll have your own parking area with a nice path to get to your front door. I ask that you please don’t go in to other buildings near your space and stay close to the Airbnb area. Other things to note I do have a pond at a distance that is not fenced. Please keep children away. The neighbors have farm animals and dogs but please leave them alone. The road coming up from the highway is narrow so please drive slowly (10mph). I am on a well and will be asking you to not let water run unnecessarily while using the sink or shower. During the months of April through the beginning of August, there will be goats on the property being raised for 4H. You will see them near where you’ll park and may hear them a bit during your stay. Please do not feed the goats but feel free to give them a scratch if they stand still!
