Come and stay with us in the beautiful Market Town of Leek in our renovated 1863 Victorian Townhouse. We offer the perfect Town and Country Combination stay. Located on a quiet one way residential street, less than 120 metres from the Town Centre and all the amenities that come with that including fabulous bars, restaurants, boutique shops, markets and pubs. Plus 2 miles from the Peak District. Both the house and the town of Leek are really dog friendly and dogs are allowed just about anywhere The space Our three-storey townhouse combines stylish interiors with a relaxed, quirky charm. Thoughtfully designed throughout, with lots of well-considered extra touches that make for an easy, comfortable stay. It’s a welcoming base for couples, friends and families looking to explore Leek and the Peak District. The house is styled with a botanical-inspired interior design, using a calm, cohesive colour palette and natural textures to create a relaxed and homely feel throughout. Inside, the house is calm, comfortable and designed for easy stays. We sleep up to 6 guests across three double bedrooms: one king-size bedroom on the middle floor and two double bedrooms on the top floor. There is also a single ottoman sofa bed in one bedroom for children or teenagers who prefer not to share. The living room is a cosy space to unwind after a day out, with seating for up to 6 made up of a 4-seater corner sofa, a 2-seater window seat and additional fold-out chairs. For relaxed evenings, 3–4 guests will find the space especially comfortable, and a second TV upstairs gives extra room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering stays, including oven, hob, grill, convection microwave, toaster, kettle, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, washer dryer, double air fryer, 6.5L slow cooker, undercounter fridge freezer and a countertop mini dishwasher. There is also a pull-out dining table seating up to 6. In the private courtyard you’ll find our Ninja Artisan outdoor pizza oven. Guests are welcome to bring their own ingredients, or book one of our optional pizza packages for a relaxed, sociable evening at the cottage. The bathroom is a boutique-style space with a roll-top bath and separate shower, ideal for unwinding after a day exploring. We are multi-dog friendly and do not charge extra for dogs. Dogs are welcome throughout the cottage, and we provide bowls, towels and treats. There is an enclosed courtyard, a park just 300m away, countryside walks from the door, and secure bookable dog fields nearby. Families are well catered for with a cot bed, highchair, toys, books, games and a train set, plus a large play park and play café within walking distance. Teenagers also enjoy the walkable town centre, skate park nearby, and space to spread out in the house. Above all, Stonesthrow is a comfortable, flexible base for exploring Leek and the Peak District, whether that’s walking, eating out, relaxing in the bath, or spending an easy evening in with pizza and a film. Bijou & Bougie 🩵 Guest access Guests have full access to the entire house and private courtyard during your stay. The only area not accessible is a small locked store cupboard used for cleaning supplies. The property is a three-storey townhouse with stairs throughout. The bathroom is located on the first floor. There is a small step and door lip at the entrance. Other things to note There is a large and beautiful park less than 300 metres away, with a floodlit skate park, children’s play area and plenty of open space for dogs. The trails at the back of the park lead off through open countryside to Tittesworth Reservoir and the White Peak. The local leisure centre is currently being refurbished and is due to reopen this summer, offering swimming, tennis, basketball, squash, gym and classes once complete. We also have Peak Climbing Wall nearby for those with a love of bouldering and they hire bouldering mats if you're looking to head off to the Roaches. A parkrun takes place nearby at Birchall Playing Fields on Saturday mornings, along with a growing local running community. For younger children, there is a play café within easy walking distance. The location works particularly well for families with teenagers, offering a balance of independence and convenience, they can explore locally, while still being close enough to come and go easily and spend time together as a family. Food options are also very easy and varied, from dessert spots like Flo’s Waffles and Shakes to cafés, brunch places, takeaways, and independent teen favourites such as The Slamwich Club. Leek is also great for Niantic Games such as Pokemon Go with a thriving community Beyond the town, we are perfectly placed for exploring some of the best of the Peak District and Staffordshire Moorlands, including Lud’s Church, The Roaches, Three Shires Head, Thor’s Cave, Dovedale, Rudyard Lake, Tittesworth Reservoir, Macclesfield Forest, the Chained Oak and Dragon’s Back, all within a short drive. We are also close to Alton Towers, Peak Wildlife Park and Churnet Valley Railway, along with a wide range of other family-friendly attractions. We welcome guests travelling with pets of all kinds not just dogs. Small animals are also welcome by prior arrangement so we can make sure everything is set up comfortably for your stay. Parking is on street with multiple easy options. You can usually park outside the front door free from 5.15pm to 8.45am or in the car park at the end of the street free from 3.30pm to 9.30am (PayByPhone available for extensions). During the day there are short stay, long stay and free on-street options within a few minutes’ walk, plus EV parking in nearby car park very close by.
