Fika Tiny House

Fika is a space to slow down and reconnect with nature, yourself and your loved one. A charming romantic getaway, overlooking a forest, lily ponds and the Forth river. The 9 acre property offers lots for you to explore and do - wander the forest, mazes and labyrinths, fire pit, soak in the outdoor bath, platypus spotting, feed the ducks and relax in the wood fired sauna nestled in the trees. The tiny house itself was handcrafted by your hosts Caleb and Rosie with love poured into every detail. The space Fika has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas oven and cooktop, toaster, kettle, nutri-bullet, fridge and freezer. Our pantry is generously stocked with spices, dry goods, olive oil, sugar, a selection of teas and ground coffee. If you're a coffee lover we also have coffee beans from a local roaster you can hand grind and a chemex pour-over for the ultimate coffee experience. Please call into the local shops on the way to pick up your choice of milk and supplies. You'll also receive a welcome basket of fresh sourdough, wine and a sample of fermented foods from Caleb's business Love Your Guts. Enjoy your meals on our comfy couch or at the kitchen bar window. The tiny house is kept warm and toasty all year by our Morso wood heater. The bedroom loft is cosy with a queen sized bed dressed in 100% flax linen. Enjoy the view over the treetops from the bedroom window. There are drawers and hanging space for your clothes. Our bathroom is surprisingly spacious with a full size walk in shower, compost toilet and all natural eco-friendly soaps. There is an outdoor claw foot bath on the deck for you to enjoy a luxurious soak under the stars. We also provide 100% flax linen robes. Explore the enchanting gardens and forest that include two enormous mazes and labyrinths. Wander through wild flowers to the river front and discover the fire pit to enjoy as you watch the water flow by. The wood fired sauna is a short stroll away through the trees. You can complete the sauna with a dip in the river, a cold shower in the change shed, or a cold bath (just outside the sauna). Enjoy the warmth and relaxation. Time is yours to dream, contemplate, and relish as you savour a complementary bottle of wine or luxurious coffee and enjoy the company of our resident ducks, platypus, donkey (Cedric), and miniature Hereford (Clover). Guest access The tiny house and deck is a private space for your exclusive use. The rest of the property is shared with the property owners and other guests. Other things to note Please note, Fika is not suitable for children due to the limited space and hazards of the open waterways. We don't allow pets either to protect the ducks and wildlife. During your stay, you get one session in our forest wood-fired sauna on the house. If you fancy more sessions, there's a small additional fee. There is a local convenience store 500 meters away in the quaint township of Forth as well as a bottle shop, bakery and heritage Forth pub which often has live music.
