How about a journey, getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city, in a relaxing and quiet place? KAEDE-AN is a traditional Japanese private house surrounded by nature. You can enjoy hearing birds singing, the big trees swaying in the wind and seeing colorful carps swimming leisurely in the pond. We live in the house next door. The space In KAEDE-AN there is a king-size bed for 2 people, and 2 more people can use futons (FUTON=traditional Japanese style bedding). Other things to note Weather permitting, you can go out for fresh air to the park and enjoy cycling along the Koora river just next to KAEDE-AN. You may see cherry-blossoms in Spring, fireflies in early Summer, Autumn golden leaves, and the garden covered with snow in Winter. There is a good French restaurant in an old private house, a Japanese gastropub (Izakaya) and a 24hour supermarket nearby. In the Ishibashi cultural center, situated 15 minutes on foot from KAEDE-AN, you will find a beautiful western garden and a Japanese garden, a rose garden, a pond, an art museum, a library and a restaurant. It takes about 50 minutes from Fukuoka airport by highway bus and 17 minutes from Hakata station (Fukuoka) by Shinkansen to Kurume. Various places in Kyushu can be reached by Shinkansen or other lines: from Kurume to Kumamoto (20minutes), Dazaifu (30minutes), Saga (30minutes), Kagoshima (1h 21minutes), Nagasaki (1h 24minutes), Yufuin (1h 40minutes).
