Gîte at the foot of the Pyrenees

This peaceful home offers a relaxing stay for the whole family. At the foot of the Pyrenees, a large number of activities will be accessible to you: the mountain in summer and winter, a tour in Spain, a walk in the forest or in beautiful villages and tourist attractions. (Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, the prehistoric caves of Gargas, the Esparros chasm). You can also enjoy the house and rest by the poolside under the hazelnut trees. The space The accommodation includes two bedrooms, (a single bed plus a double bed in each bedroom), a bathroom, a large living room with an open kitchen, a glass window, a stove, sofa and TV. We can add a cot ( as a replacement for a single bed) and a high chair if needed. Note that you will be the only tenants to take advantage of the swimming pool in addition to the owners who can be there from time to time. In addition to the pool, you can also access a large green space with a vegetable garden. Things to do around the property: 🌳 Nature & landscapes: • Hikes & walks 🏔🌲🌻 The area is ideal for walking and enjoying the Pyrenean scenery. There are many tours to do around Arné and the surrounding area, whether it's small family walks or longer hikes to peaks such as: - The lakes of Néouvielle, beautiful Pyrenean lakes, really beautiful - Lake Loudenvielle and Balnea, a spa with views of the mountains - Mont Aspet Peak - Cap Nestès, Signal de Bassia or the Cabanes de Jézeau (magnificent panoramas). • Lac de Montréjeau – leisure center 🤿 In summer, this lake is perfect for a day of relaxation, picnic, swimming or a walk by the water (recreation area with beaches and green spaces). • Tournay Arboretum 🌳🌿 A large garden of trees with more than 170 species, ideal for a peaceful walk in the middle of nature a few minutes away by car. 📍 Cultural and historical sites: • Prehistoric caves Although a little further away (about 30-35 min by car), the Caves of Gargas in Aventignan offer a fascinating discovery of prehistoric art. • Escaladieu Abbey A beautiful restored medieval Cistercian monastery, perfect for a cultural visit (30-40 min). • Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminge, a magnificent cathedral 🐾 Original activities & visits nearby: • Birdwatching around Lake Puydarrieux – guided nature outings in season. • Remarkable trees & local nature – such as the Chêne des Bourdalats or "Arboretum de Cardeilhac". • Discoveries on the farm or tastings of local products – farms and producers a few kilometers away (meat, organic products) in the Gers Illico A little further but very accessible by car: - Lombrives Cave – one of the largest caves in Europe (impressive underground experience) - Roquefort-les-Cascades Tourism – classified village with natural waterfalls - Niaux cave – prehistoric cave famous for its paintings Guest access We have a large private parking lot. Other things to note We prefer rentals from Saturday to Saturday during school holidays. We remain available to discuss this and be more flexible if needed.
