Mt Lassen & The Great Outdoors
As you turn onto Thatcher Mill you'll feel the comfort of this mountain retreat. Your tranquil drives ends at this 12 year old home that we call our cabin. It's well built and sits off the road a bit and invites you to relax and enjoy what the Lake McCumber /Mt Lassen community has to offer. The sounds of silence radiates through the trees and gives that sense of calm we all wish for in our daily lives. Once inside you find it a comfortable stay. Backyard is awesome! Stay another day! The space Just a short 20 minute drive from the entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park makes the cabin an ideal place to stay. Whether you're coming to summit Mt Lassen or just relax, Mt Lassen & The Great Outdoors has you covered! Guest access You'll have the entire house and 3/4 acre as your own private mountain getaway. Two hammocks out back and plenty of pine cones. Wildlife abounds! Other things to note Yes, there is internet, but it's not very strong. You'll be able to check email, and other light duties, but streaming is difficult to impossible. Hopefully, you can leave work behind and enjoy Mt Lassen and the Great Outdoors. Cell service is limited to none whether you’re at the cabin or exploring. There are certain spots at the cabin where you may get service. We recommend bringing your groceries as there is only one local market in Shingletown that includes a small deli counter. The house is fully functional with a stove/oven along with a BBQ in the backyard. A full-size fridge with ice maker is also included, but you may want to bring a bag of ice in the hotter months. There is no water dispenser on the fridge. A list of markets located in Redding and the surrounding area can be found in our “Guide Book/Todd’s Guide Book”. We encourage you to make any purchases before making your way up to Shingletown. We are dog friendly but not everyone loves dogs. We respectfully ask that you don’t allow your dog(s) on the beds or other furniture. Please note that the property is not fenced. Dogs should be on a leash at all times while outside to ensure their safety. Be aware, pets are not allowed on the trails in Lassen National Park, though they are welcome at many other nearby locations.
