Charming Cotswold Getaway
Charming Cotswold Getaway
Description
Lovely views and a log burner help you relax in this peaceful spot. On the edge of Chipping Norton, the flat in our annexe overlooks countryside, in an exclusive Stables development. ‘Chippy’ is a busy little Cotswold market town with loads to make your visit special. Antique shops, gastropubs and coffee bars with luscious cakes a’ plenty. Visit quaint Cotswold towns, National Trust properties, Soho Farmhouse and Daylesford or just walk straight out of the door for glorious country walks. The space We live in part of the converted Hunt Stable Yard and our annexe is just across the driveway. Our flat occupies the upper floor of the annexe. You’ll be able to park right outside! Hang your coats and leave outdoor shoes in the zingy yellow hallway. The rustic elm bench and coat rack was made for us by a local craftsman. A loo for your convenience… Heading upstairs, you’ll find the living room with its comfy sofa, log burner - and lovely views to the fields beyond! Several pieces of beautiful wood furniture bring period charm to this otherwise modern flat: a sweet little piece of pioneer Canadiana (the cupboard in the living room from our time in Vancouver) and the large oak chest of drawers in the bedroom (inherited from my grandmother, probably 17th century). You could pull out the round dining table to seat 4-5 if you have guests. The kitchen is cleverly designed around the stairwell. Dishwasher, fridge freezer, 2 ring induction hob, microwave with grill, air fryer, kettle, toaster, 2 coffee makers (a Bialetti expresso machine and a cafetière) as well as a supply of herbs and spices, oils, vinegars etc. - all you’d need to cook a meal. But do please ask me if there’s anything you want as I’ll very likely have it! Past the kitchen is the shower room and bedroom with more lovely views…! The extremely comfortable bed (we’ve slept in it!) has Egyptian cotton bedding and The White Company duvet and pillows. You’ll find an iron, hairdryer, hanging cupboard, long mirror and electric blanket…. Guest access You will have exclusive use of the flat and hallway entrance. We ask you to park in the parking area alongside the annex with consideration to the other residents. Other things to note If you have any guests visiting you, please ask them to park on the lane branching left off Kennels Lane in front of the row of houses. There is very limited parking at The Hunt Yard.
