The location was a block away from a popular part of malecon for those who want to party there. , the malecon is 5 miles long. Jose also has wifi at his house, internet is a commodity in Cuba, and very few places that have it. However the internet situation in Cuba is different from the US, you MUST buy a wifi card that has username and a password to log on to use his wifi. This was extremely perplexing to me at first, why have internet and you still have to pay to use it. BUT that is how is works in Cuba,THIS GOES FOR all venues, including hotels. Having wifi at his house was extremely convenient.
