Joy House

The house has an incredible view that embraces the whole island, from the northern village of Oia to the beach of Vlychada and the mount of Profitis Ilias on the eastern part.From the upper terrace, your eyes can reach the south and see the island of Crete. The house was built in the late 1800s and the new owners have kept the traditional features of the house. It is very close to the Red, the Black and the White beaches, very popular on the island and also to the archaeological site of Akrotiri The space The bedroom of the house is a cave, typical of the Cycladic architecture. The whole house keeps the traditional decoration. There is also a small living room with a sofa and a table with chairs for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while there is also a big table with chairs on the terrace of the house where you can enjoy your lunches with an incredible view to the rest of the island and the caldera. A cute kitcehnette is equipped with all the necessary conforts for all the daily meals, coffee, tea and a welcome drink! The temperature inside the house is usually ideal but there is also the ability of the air conditioning. Few steps leads you on the upper terrace, on the top of the house, and also on the top of the hill of the village from where you can have an astonishing view reaching the south Aegean, to the island of Crete. On this terrace, during the evening, you can have your drink, admiring the sunset and the rest of the island! Free wifi internet connection is available, outside and inside the house, while cable connection (Netflix) is also available on both screens (bedroom and living room) of the house. Guest access The house is on the top of the hill of the older part of the Akrotiri village. Very close to JOY HOUSE there is free parking area and from there you can reach easily the entrance of the house through a small distance road. The airport of the island is almost 13 km away, while the main port of Athinios is 10 km away and most of the visitors arrange their transfer to the house. The bus station is 800 meters away, in the center of the Akrotiri village, from where you can pick the bus for the capital of the island, Fira, and other smaller villages and beaches. Other things to note "JOY HOUSE", is located close to the famous archeological site of the prehistoric city of Akrotiri, the Red, White and Black (Mesa Pigadia) beach and "Goula", the Venetian castle of the village. The visitor of the house can walk through the picturesque streets of the village and reach its center, where they will find taverns and a super market.
