With beautiful (quiet!) hardwood floors, Victorian arched windows, elegant casings, and velvet curtains, you’ll easily be charmed by this home’s je ne sais quoi🥐. Both bedrooms feature queen beds (including a gold canopy bed) and a desk for at-home work. Off-street and on-street parking is available, and laundry is located in-unit. While the weather is good, spend some time outdoors in the fully fenced backyard. There’s always something going on in the Grove, but the unit is situated far enough away not to be impacted by loud nights. No matter what brings you to St. Louis, you’ll be close to where you need to be. Everything is reachable within a 5-10 minute drive, and in some cases, less than a 20 minute walk. Three of the five nearest hospital networks (Barnes-Jewish, Shriners Children, and WashU medical) are less than a mile away, with an additional four less than two miles away (St. Louis Children’s, SSM Health, SLU hospital), making a commute to nearby hospitals easy and short. WashU campus is conveniently situated over three miles away, SLU is under two miles, downtown is just under 4 miles, and the Coretex tech hub is just over a half mile away. For quick grocerying, Whole Foods is just over a mile away. While enjoying your time in St. Louis, don’t miss out on the many free experiences, including the Saint Louis Art Museum 🎨, the Saint Louis Zoo 🐒 (named as the top free attraction in the United States!), Missouri History Museum 🏛️, and Saint Louis Science Center👩🔬. Guest access This home has two separate apartments with separate and private entrances: one is located on the first floor and one is on the second. This unit is the FIRST floor unit, and the entire floor is yours for the duration of your stay. There is a parking pad at the rear of the home. You are entitled to one parking spot in the rear (park on the RIGHT hand side when viewing the house from the back). Street parking is free on Gibson Avenue as well if you need to park an additional car. Additionally, you are free to use the front and back yards as much as you would like (shared with the other unit)! A few days before check-in, I will contact you with instructions on how to check-in to the house, as well as to offer a guidebook with recommendations. Other things to note Please remember that this is not a hotel and that you’re staying in someone’s home. Treat our space with respect, just as previous tenants have! 💗 This unit is the downstairs part of a duplex. No access will be given to the upstairs part of the duplex. For non-emergency issues, maintenance won’t be sent until after your stay is complete. Feel free to reach out to discuss extenuating circumstances if necessary. All guests must be 21+. We have a limit of four people, and no additional guests/overnight visitors are allowed. For the safety and comfort of all our guests, we do not allow exotic or dangerous animals on the property. Additionally, we cannot accommodate any dogs or cats with a known bite history. Certain breeds—including Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, Chows, Akitas, Wolves or Wolf hybrids, or any mixes—are not permitted. Thank you for understanding and helping us maintain a safe, welcoming environment for everyone! If you have questions about our pet policy, feel free to reach out. If you have pet allergies, please note that this space will probably not work for you, as we are pet friendly. Additionally, please note that there is an old, NON-FUNCTIONAL security system inside of the unit. There are no cameras. The system was put in place by a previous owner, is not operable, and will not affect you in any way. Please do not try to remove any of the security equipment inside or you will be charged for damages. There is a Ring doorbell with a camera on the exterior front porch and an exterior camera in the backyard. There are no cameras inside the unit. Some windows do not have screens. Use caution when opening windows and monitor while open. We are not liable for injuries/accidents/broken objects due to lack of screens. No refunds will be given for weather/natural disasters/power outages/acts of God/other circumstances beyond our control. If you damage or take with you any amenities, furniture, or household goods, you will be liable for charges. We provide a starter set of supplies, but you’ll likely need to buy more during your stay. Smart thermostats are sometimes difficult to use, so we will set the thermostat to your desired day/night temperatures prior to your arrival. Please reach out if you need the temperature adjusted (which we will do remotely) or if you need to adjust the thermostat manually. The available range for the thermostat is 68-74 as this is an old home and not a hotel, and the HVAC unit can't handle extreme temperatures or changes too quickly. If you like to keep your space warmer or cooler than those temperatures, then this listing probably isn't a good fit! Please note that any events or activities guests attend off the property are solely the responsibility of the guests. We encourage you to enjoy all that St. Louis has to offer, but please be aware that the host cannot be held liable for any incidents or issues related to off-premises events.
