Historic, elm barn with stylish en-suite rooms

Spacious two-bedroom barn conversion with two en-suite bedrooms, private garden and fully equipped kitchen, tucked behind our family home in a peaceful Warwickshire village. Once part of an 1890 wheelwright's yard, it's now a calm, characterful place to stay, filled with curious details and unexpected discoveries. Ideal for weddings, family visits, exploring the area or simply slowing down for a few days. The space The Barn is a spacious, self-contained conversion at the end of a long private drive with parking for two cars (more by arrangement). Designed for relaxed short stays, it offers two generous double bedrooms, each with an en-suite and excellent shower, a cosy snug opening onto the garden, a fully equipped kitchen, downstairs cloakroom and private patio with access to a larger terraced seating area. Built in 1890 as part of a working wheelwright's yard, the Barn has evolved slowly over many years. Rather than following a particular interior style, it has become a collection of things that have gradually found where they belong Some guests use the Barn simply as a comfortable base for exploring Warwickshire. Others find themselves browsing the bookshelves, noticing small details or lingering over coffee in the garden. Both approaches are equally welcome. The Barn isn't a minimalist holiday let or a polished boutique hotel. It's an old building with character, history and personality, and we think that's exactly what makes it feel special. We specify guests request in advance of booking precisely so we can ensure we're exactly the right place for your stay. A public footpath passes the gate and leads to field walks (bring wellies) and a lovely meadow play area. The Malt Shovel pub is just a three-minute walk away, and open countryside begins almost immediately beyond the village boundary. Guest access Guest Access You'll have exclusive use of the entire Barn during your stay, including: • Two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms • Fully equipped kitchen • Comfortable small living room/snug with Smart TV • Downstairs cloakroom • Private patio garden and outdoor seating • Roll-out chair bed in the snug for a fifth guest if required (booked through the platform) The Barn is completely self-contained. An adjoining florist's studio has its own separate entrance and a locked connecting door, ensuring your privacy throughout your stay. Other things to note Pet Friends We share the gardens with two friendly cats, Sharon and Steve. Steve, in particular, is wonderfully nosey and may decide to introduce himself if a door is left open. You are more than welcome to tell him to go home unless you particularly want him to stay! We also welcome dogs as part of our guest offering, so while we clean thoroughly between stays, we can't guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. Summer We keep the garden tidy but without weed killer and chemicals, so like lots of our roadsides these days in full summer you'll notice edges, pathways and the driveway full of various greenery and seed heads. We want you to know this is a conscious choice not a lack of care! We're also delighted to have a beautiful creeper adorning the exterior of the Barn and each season it wears a new outfit! For the two weeks in summer time it's in full flower, it attracts pollinators including a collection of tiny solitary bees. They are not interested in humans, only pollen, and are absolutely not a swarm or nesting in the building. We cut off flower heads nearest windows and doors to stop them straying in but if one does it's fine to gently guide him out. Food & Drink The Malt Shovel pub is just a three-minute walk away and serves excellent lunches and evening meals. There are also a couple of takeaway options within a few miles, together with a small selection of Deliveroo and Uber Eats deliveries. Little Garden Florist Studio Next door to the Barn is Little Garden, an independent florist's studio. It is only occasionally in use while Lois prepares flowers for weddings and events. The studio has its own separate entrance and, when in use, won't affect your privacy. We aim to let guests know if their booking will coincide with floristry operations. Outside guest stays, the studio also hosts seasonal floral workshops throughout the year. If you're interested in flowers or would like fresh blooms waiting for your arrival (or as a gift), just let us know with a little notice. If Something Else Catches Your Eye... Almost everything in the Barn has been found, made or collected over many years, and most pieces have a story attached. From time to time guests ask whether something they've fallen for is available to buy. Occasionally the answer is yes, provided we can find a suitable replacement. Because many pieces are vintage, handmade or one of a kind, any price reflects the cost of replacing them rather than what we originally paid.
