Description
Come for a peaceful break at Craigiedows where you can enjoy the south facing view from our newly built sunroom, all year round. Situated within the eastern edge of the Cairngorm National Park and perfect for walks in the nearby forest and hills, cycling, bird-watching and fishing and generally getting away from it all. There is oil fired central heating and a wood-burning stove for cosy days/nights in. Well behaved dogs welcome and suitable for all ages. Car essential. STL licence no: AS00895F The space Entrance is into the large airy sunroom where you can sit comfortably and also eat at a table. This then leads into the kitchen/dining/living room with wood burning stove. There are sofas, tv, a dining table plus kitchen - all open plan. That then leads into a small hall off which is the downstairs double bedroom, a small bathroom and stairs to the upper floor. Upstairs there is an airy landing with couch, second double bedroom and twin bedroom. There are 2 large cupboards, one with mainly cleaning products, hoover etc and the other contains a small chest freezer, ironing board, high chair and travel cot plus air dryer, clothes pegs etc. In the winter there will be electric blankets on beds and extra duvets are available. The upstairs double room also had a fold down single bed and if you need bedding for this, please indicate. Max occupation is still 6 people as there is only one bathroom. Guest access Access is for the whole cottage with garden. There is a combination of walls and fencing round the garden but a determined dog could escape as the wall is lower in places, so please supervise your pet(s). The last 100m access is driving on a track across a field and parking in the garden. The area can get muddy if there has been a lot of rain. There are detailed directions of how to reach Craigiedows, along with additional information for when there is snow. I am happy to negotiate changes to your booking if bad weather makes access impossible. Safety first. Other things to note Craigiedows has a private water supply with lower pressure than mains water, although there is an additional pump. We have WiFi, but it’s not super fast and won’t support a lot of downloading. There are main TV channels and freeview (the Sky dish is to improve reception). What the cottage lacks in modern amenities is made up for by old fashioned charm.
