Description
Escape to the country at this stunning, detached Victorian rectory with its beautiful pool, huge garden, roaring open fire and three reception rooms. It's the perfect venue for a classy group trip with family or friends. Set in a quiet Cambridgeshire village, its six double bedrooms easily sleep 12. Country walks followed by cocktails in the drawing room? Yes please. The space Built in 1883, Old Pond House is a former Victorian rectory. Reception Rooms The ground floor boasts 10ft high ceilings, two large reception rooms and a library leading off a generous entrance hall. With open fires and french doors leading out to the huge garden, Old Pond House is as inviting in the winter months as it is in the summer. Furnished throughout in a luxe, eclectic style, mixing period features with mid-century furniture, statement lights and modern art, there’s ample space for everyone to come together, as well as lots of cosy corners to sneak off to for some peace and quiet. Kitchen The kitchen diner is beautifully equipped for the chefs of your party, with seating and settings for 12, a Nespresso machine, double oven and microwave plus an abundance of pans and utensils. A utility room with washing machine and dryer leads just off the kitchen. Bathrooms Old Pond House has three sizeable bathrooms, two with walk-in showers and one with a claw foot bath. In addition there are two separate WCs. Bedrooms With six double bedrooms Old Pond House comfortably sleeps 12 adults. There is one super-king with ensuite, two kings, two regular doubles and a twin, so plenty of options for your group. All rooms have high thread-count Egyptian cotton bedding plus additional wool blankets should you them. They are all individually decorated in soft greens, pinks and blues. Facilities Upstairs, we have a Peloton bike which you are welcome to log in to plus a selection of hand-weights. Outdoors is the large pool (open June-September) with a variety of inflatables, and a weights rack and bench with super heavy weights (at your own risk!) In the summer months there’s also an outdoor table tennis, a badminton net with rackets. We also have football goals, cricket stumps, bats and balls for your use. For rainy days the Library has a large selection of books and board games which you are welcome to use, and you'll find Sky and Netflix in the TV Room. Other things to note Please note the swimming pool is unfenced and the neighbours have a large open pond. So supervision of small children is essential at all times. The pool and large garden to the immediate rear and right of the house are available for your exclusive enjoyment, with our two dining tables, outdoor sofas, sunloungers and lawns. The orchard and wildflower meadow to the front right of the drive as you approach the house is also for you to enjoy. However, please respect the fenced boundary across the top lawn to ensure privacy for yourselves and our neighbours and please note we share the front gravel drive. The swimming pool is unheated and open seasonally from June-September.
