Completely renovated 1800's farmhouse / converted barn at the end of a dead end road situated next to a large, spring fed pond on 256 acres of property. All 4 seasons have something to offer here whether you enjoy swimming, exploring, or just relaxing - do it all (or nothing) without leaving the property! The space First, the great outdoors - 256 acres of mixed woodland and open fields with trails make for great hiking in the Spring, Summer, and Fall or snowshoeing in the Winter months. Explore the property on the various trails and discover the multiple springs and streams that run year-round, varying tree species, and of course the wildlife. Looking for a slower pace? Hang out on the dock or take the kayak out and relax in the middle of the pond. The pond is always cool and clean as it is constantly refreshed from the incoming spring water so don’t hesitate to take a dip. Strictly looking to relax? Spend time on the deck and gazebo overlooking the pond enjoying dinner or just hang out by the fire pit (wood included). Second, the house - Enjoy a large eat-in kitchen including a 36” propane stove with griddle, living room with plenty of seating, and dining table. We provide pots, pans, utensils and all things you would expect to need to cook and eat a meal. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. 1 large main floor bedroom has 2 full beds, while the other has 1 queen bed. The entire second floor is the primary suite with 1 queen bed and ensuite full bath. Bed linens and towels are provided. The living room TV is equipped with an Apple TV, chromecast, and Samsung TV Plus (many free channels). We also have a small collection of books to read and board games to play. A washer and dryer are available for use in the mudroom (after all that outdoor activity you’re bound to need to wash something). Third, nearby attractions – We are about 5 minutes from the town of Jefferson where you can find places to eat such as the Mill Pond Inn, Heartbreak Hotel, Breakfast Club, or grab some ice cream at the 2 Scoops Ice Creamery. Stamford, NY is about 15 minutes away with more restaurants, bars, coffee shops, supermarket, etc. Nearby outdoor attractions (within 15 minutes) include Mine Kill State Park and Waterfalls, Burnt -Rossman Hills State Forest, and many other opportunities for hiking and exploring. You can realistically expect a 45 minute drive to either Windham, Hunter, or Plattekill mountains and a touch longer to get to Belleayre. Visit Cooperstown and the baseball hall of fame, a 50 minute scenic drive and visit one of the many breweries along the way. We are also 5-10 minutes from nearby Jefferson / Blenheim wedding venues. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire home.
