Stay on a working fiber/lavender farm convenient to the Raleigh/Durham area - 20 minutes from Interstate 85. Interact with our alpacas, sheep, llamas, Angora goats, donkeys, & more. Shop our farm store, stroll the property, smell the lavender. Tours are free for registered guests. Friends may join the tour for a fee. Use of the pool is for registered guests only. Twenty stairs lead up to the 700 sq ft over-the-garage apartment with private entrance. Includes a king bed & pullout couch. The space A beautiful, serene 17-acre working fiber & lavender agritourism farm in Franklin County with alpacas, llamas, Angora goats, sheep, donkeys, horses, chickens, and Guineas. We are conveniently located about 15 minutes from Wake Forest or Louisburg, 24 miles from Red Hat Amphitheater, RDU Airport, or the NC State Fairgrounds, 26 miles from DPAC in Durham, and 28 miles from Duke Gardens. Interstate 85 is about 21 miles. Feel free to walk around the property and sit on the patio. Hosts occupy the property’s primary house 24/7. We make ourselves available to help with questions or needs. We’re happy to recommend things to do in the area. Our little town has some amazing restaurants and shopping. Guests may have up to 5 visitors with prior approval. Because of liability, visitors may not use the pool. A farm tour is included for our guests if time allows. If your schedule is tight, it may be hard to fit in a tour if you’re only staying one night but we will be happy to try. Your visitors may join in a farm tour for an additional fee. After parking, guests follow the sidewalk on the right around the garage to the patio. Once inside the gate, the entrance to the AirBnB is to your immediate left. PARKING There is a reserved guest parking spot in front of the first garage door to the right. Any additional vehicles should park below the garage in our designated customer/visitor parking area. POOL Our pool is not heated. We keep it covered during the fall and winter and remove the covering in April or May. The water will probably not be warm enough to swim until May. There are some guest beach towels in the bathroom in the AirBnB. There is an outside bathroom on the patio that you are welcome to use. Use of our pool, because of liability issues, is restricted to registered guests only. AirBnB policy only covers liability for hosts and registered guests. *Swim at your own risk. *An adult must accompany and supervise all children on the patio, when using the pool, and around the animals. * No glass containers are allowed in pool area. * No running in the pool area. * No diving into the pool. FARM TOURS As an agritourism farm, we offer public, educational, walking tours by reservation to learn about our animals, our fiber, and lavender farming. Registered guests receive a farm tour included with their stay if time allows. Tours take about 45 minutes. We can do an abbreviated tour if needed. Allow time to shop in our farm store stocked with alpaca socks and other alpaca goods, homemade soaps, pottery, lavender products, and handcrafts by local artisans. * As we are a working farm, we will need to schedule your tour. Please let us know your availability and we will try to find a suitable time. We begin feeding usually around 8 or 8:30 am and again around 4 in the summer so we could possibly start a tour in the morning around 9:30 or 10 or early afternoon. * Additional visitors may join your tour for $10 for anyone 3 and above. If your schedule allows, you may meet our animals, learn about fiber & lavender farming, enjoy our private patio, swimming pool, picnic area, & shop our farm store. (Store can be available during your stay if you’d like to shop.) We offer farm tours to the general public by reservation only. We also host school field trips, home school groups, birthday parties, special events, & corporate events. We have a Lavender Day at the beginning of June. MORE INFO Checkin is at 3 pm and checkout is at 11 am but these times are flexible depending on our bookings. We will try to work with you. We are pet friendly but pets must be leashed and are not allowed in our animal enclosures, especially where our donkeys are. We do have free range chickens & Guineas which may pose problems for some dogs. Please include your pets when you book. Children must be supervised at all times, especially around our animals and pool. Feel free to walk around the property during your stay and use the patio and outside amenities. Guest access Our AirBnB is a spacious studio apartment over our garage with a private entrance overlooking our beautiful back pasture. The apartment can accommodate 3 to 4 people comfortably. There is a king bed, a pull out sofa, a blowup mattress, and a full size kitchen with everything included. There is a washer and dryer, and bathroom with shower. Towels are provided. See pictures for more details. Our apartment is prepared to accommodate ONLY 3-4 registered guests. Additional guests must have prior approval and may incur an additional fee. Please message the hosts before or immediately after booking if you need additional guests approved. The hosts must approve visitors or additional guests before they are allowed on the property. Tours are included for registered guests. Friends may join the tour but will need to pay a fee. Guests access the apartment through a private, outside door on the patio behind the garage but inside the patio fence. Please keep all gates latched. * There are 22 stairs to reach the apartment. * Guests may use the patio and swimming pool at their own risk. The pool and patio are shared with the owners. * Only registered guests may use the pool. * Guests are allowed to walk around the property but are not allowed in the animal enclosures without an owner present. Please do not feed our animals unless accompanied by a host. Children must be supervised at all times by an adult. * A farm tour is included as part of the reservation for registered guests only. Additional non registered visitors (over 3 years old) may be included in a tour for $8.50 per person. * Guests are expected to clean up after their dogs, and pets are not allowed in the livestock enclosures, especially in the pasture with the donkeys. Other things to note The apartment includes a king-sized bed and a pull-out sofa which could accommodate 2 smaller children or one adult/teen. There is also a blow-up mattress. So the apartment could comfortable accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. * There is a $25 pet deposit. Make sure when you are selecting the number of guests who will be visiting, please include the number of pets as well. * The grill is a Big Green Egg. If you are not familiar with it, we would have to show you how to use it. It does require special “Big Green Egg” charcoal and starter which can be purchased at Ace Hardware and other stores.
