Prepare for a truly magical holiday in Dominica. 100% off grid, solar powered, gravity rain fed, yet with satellite internet, this stylish ecolodge invites you to relax and rejuvenate. The stunning inside-outside living room is the perfect place to watch the hummingbirds as you sip a fresh coffee. Surrounded by a lush tropical garden, yet within walking distance of Soufriere, the Caribbean Sea and the Waitukubuli National Trail. Get away from it all in this peaceful haven. The space Upper Love is a minimalist space which has been thoughtfully designed to ensure your comfort and connect you to nature. There is no glass in the windows. Instead, there are mosquito nets which allow the air to circulate and ventilate the space. A paved walkway leads to the front entrance, with a useful line to hang out your swimming things. To the left, descend the steps to reach the magical outdoor rainwater shower. Cool but refreshing! Return to the front entrance, and just inside to your left there's a decent-sized bathroom with sink, toilet and plenty of shelf and cupboard space for your toiletries and an indoor line for towels. Walk along the airy corridor to reach the stunning indoor/outdoor seating area where you will spend the majority of your time. It has huge netted picture windows with beautiful views of the garden and mountains beyond. Hawks, hummingbirds, herons and even parrots have been spotted from here! There are four comfy teak chairs grouped around a teak dining table, which is lit by an industrial style copper pendant light. Another corridor leads to the back entrance which opens onto the garden. Return to the indoor/outdoor seating area. Here lockable double wooden doors lead into the body of the house which is essentially one large room. It is cleverly divided into three separate living areas: kitchen, living room and bedroom. The handmade wooden kitchen with island and concrete worktops is well equipped to satisfy the most discerning cook, and includes a five burner gas stove with double oven, large frost free fridge freezer, cafetière and blender for making tropical fruit smoothies! We boil a kettle to wash the dishes. The living room comprises a wooden shelving unit with space for books and games and a comfy sofa. To the left is the bedroom. The wooden bed is American Queen size with a comfortable mattress and four pillows. A huge walk-in wardrobe provides ample hanging and shelf space for your clothes, shoes and suitcases. There's a fan in the cupboard if required but please switch it off when not in use and the same goes for the lights. The garden is just over an acre and is shared with Lower Love, our other Ecolodge. Other things to note This off grid property has electricity to power the lights, frost free fridge freezer and all your devices. The gas stove has five rings, grill and double oven. The water is rain fed and supplies a unique and stylish outdoor shower. However please note there is no hot water. Update: New for September 2025: we now have a super fast satellite internet service!
