Description
Sitting right at the top of a hill, Bwthyn Hermon is compact, bright and airy. A short wander from the Malltraeth estuary and coastal path and with glorious views of Llanddwyn and over to Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) - it’s for long walks and relaxing. The space Step inside to an open-plan living, dining space and the compact kitchen - fine for simple cooking. You won’t draw the curtains here and the sofa with chaise will be the best spot for bird watching or soaking up views. A wood stove makes even the dullest day a drowsy, crackling joy. Off the living area find a cute and sparkling shower room. There’s a small bedroom for possibly two but the bed is a small double, so it is a very cosy space! A larger room caters for up to two down the corridor. This is really a hideaway for two – or a creative soul after solace and pastoral peace. Malltraeth was the home of artist Charles Tunnicliffe and over the estuary and across Afon Cefni you may see shelduck, one of the artist’s favourite subjects. Follow the embankment and catch a red squirrel at Llyn Parc Mawr or take a bike and trail around the forest. Return to the Cob and trial a cake at the Riverside Arts and Crafts Café to help you back up the hill. Spend an afternoon exploring the Tacla Taid -Anglesey Transport Museum and Café and grab fish and chips from The Codmother at Niwbwrch (it has to be done) and watch the Sunset from your seating in the small, but ample garden. A short drive away is Aberffraw with good parking and a wide curving sandy bay with sand dunes. It also has the bonus of Ty Llewellyn café for home-cooked food, and you can walk There from the beach in a few minutes. You may need to walk a few coastal circuits after their cream scones though. Further down the coast are beaches at Cable Bay, Porth Towyn and Rhosneigr – a surfer’s heaven. There are many small shops and cafés in Rhosneigr – Mojos Creperie is good for breakfast and The Sandy Mount is excellent for the special meal out. Needless to say, this is the place for walkers, nature lovers, cyclists, foodies and peace cravers.
