Description
This stunning Victorian is minutes from Bathhouse Row, Magic Springs, Oaklawn Casino, hiking/biking trails, gem mining and other attractions! It alone on a fenced acre of trees, right in town. Colorful and quirky inside with everything you need, there's nothing boring about this fun place to stay! It's the perfect place for girls' weekends, family reunions and more. Twelve-foot ceilings, chandeliers, huge rooms, lots of light and good vibes-- it's truly special. The space This majestic 3900 square foot Victorian house makes a perfect home base for exploring Hot Springs. Enjoy six large bedrooms - there's one king and one queen bedroom downstairs, four large bedrooms upstairs -- including one king bedroom, two queen bedrooms and a "kids" bedroom with one queen bed and two twin beds. There are two full bathrooms (one on each floor), a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook for large families, a large dining room table, spacious living room, a second seating area in the foyer, a huge wraparound covered porch , large fenced yard and a fire pit. It's too much to even get in the photos! (There's even shared condiments in the fridge like mayo and ketchup that you can use if you want to! If you don't feel comfortable using them, bring your own or just ignore them!) I use 100 % cotton linens, and there are new foam mattresses, as well as unique vintage furnishings throughout. The house sits on an acre of fenced land, surrounded by old oak trees, less than a mile from Bathhouse Row, where you will find spas, restaurants, breweries and all kinds of activities. Magic Springs Amusement Park is only a five minute drive. Mountain biking trails start at the end of the cross street. Gulpha Gorge hiking trails are right across the main road (Park Ave), and it's a ten minute drive to Oaklawn Race Track. Only fifteen minutes to Garvan Woodland Gardens and Lake Hamilton. There is lots of space to spread out in this house, and it's easy to find privacy when you need it. But there's also lots of communal spaces for socializing. We have a great time when we come here with our family of 12. This house was built in 1904 and it has a bright, lofty quality that makes the trip extra special. Nature lovers will enjoy all the birds, squirrels and deer on the property, and the rocking chairs on the front porch for morning coffee. It's quiet and serene inside and out. I am a real host, which means you can trust me to make your stay enjoyable! (The cleaning fee goes entirely to my local housekeeper, who is a mom of four.) Hot Springs ordinances prohibit any LARGE PARTIES. THANK YOU and I hope you have a very fun stay!! Guest access Enjoy six large bedrooms! Two living areas, a king and queen bedroom downstairs, four large rooms upstairs -- one king, three queens and two twin beds, plus two full bathrooms (one on each floor), a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, a huge wraparound covered porch , large fenced yard and a fire pit. Frequently Asked Questions: Can you walk to town? You can! But since it's a mile each way -- and since Bathhouse Row itself requires a lot of walking (there's also nice hiking trails you can access above the visitor center) -- we usually drive (which takes about a minute). Just park in the free lot and walk around Bathhouse Row to enjoy the shops and sights. Do you have WIFI? Of course! It's fast, too! Is there hiking nearby? Yes! Just across highway 7 (Park Avenue) less than a mile away, is the Gulpha Gorge RV Campground trail head. You can even walk over the ridge, past the an amazing overlook and end up in Bathhouse Row! Biking? The best Mountain bike trails are literally at the end of the road right in front of the house. What kind of mattresses and bedding do you have? New foam mattresses! 100% COTTON linens on all the bed! Is there a laundry room? Yes! The house has a washer and dryer off the King bedroom downstairs. Towels? There are plenty of towels! You can wash and/or dry the towels in the laundry if you need to. Is there a place to swim? Yes! Lake Ouachita is about a fifteen minute drive away. The water is warm! Blakely Dam is a great place for a dip-- it's about twenty minutes outside town. And Charlton Recreation Area (out of town toward the south) is perfect for kids. Plus there's Magic Springs Water Park, of course, which is only five minutes away. Is the kitchen good for cooking? Yes! There are lots of pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, flatware, glasses, range & oven, microwave and refrigerator. There's a regular coffee maker, toaster, etc. You can make anything from a quick grab-and-go meal to a full family dinner. (There are usually some spices, flour, sugar, and other things for baking in the cupboards, and we leave the condiments in the fridge since it seems silly to throw them all out. Feel free to use what's there, or add to it if that makes you nervous.) Is there parking? Yes! There is plenty of parking on the street right in front of the house. The driveway is narrow and has roots and tree branches,( if you want to park inside the gate, it's park at your own risk.) Do you have any games? Yes! In the hutch in the dining room there are board games and card games, etc. There's also lots to do in Hot Springs! Are there TVs? The house has one large smart TV in the living room with Netflix, Hulu and Prime. Do you have a BBQ grill? Yes, the house has a small “charcoal” grill on the porch. Nothing fancy! Please bring charcoal briquettes along if you want to grill, we don't provide the charcoal. Can we clean the house ourselves? Sorry, but we have the house professionally cleaned between each rental. That way we ensure it is sparkling clean and fresh for you. The fee goes directly to the housekeeper ( a mom of four). We make no money on the cleaning. What do we do with dishes and soiled linens? Leave the towels on the floor in the bathroom. The housekeeper will strip the beds. Please leave a clean kitchen! Pots and pans, etc. need to be cleaned and put back into the cabinets. But you can load the dishwasher and run it and the housekeeper will empty that for you as a courtesy. (Soiled dishes left in the sink/house will result in an additional cleaning charge). When will I get my security deposit back? Security deposit is handled through Airbnb. I do not have access to that money! They credit it back to you the day after you vacate. How do we get keys/code? There's a keypad on the front door with a four-digit code, so all you have to do is press in the code. When is check-in and check-out? Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. on the first night of your rental and check out is 11:00 a.m. If no one is renting immediately before or after you, we will be happy to arrange access for you earlier or later whenever possible. What if I need to get hold of someone about the house? Call or text me! We respond immediately to all texts or calls. How about pets? No pets, sorry! Other things to note SLIDE the handle on the screen door to get in. Parking is in front of the house, outside the fence. It's a short walk to the front door. with a few steps (Although the driveway goes around to the back, there is no entrance to the back of the house, just a turnaround.) We do have an alarm system you can use while you are there (if you want). This is my actual house so it feels like a real place, not a corporate rental! We only live here part-time, which means I will never bother you. But I am always available by text, email or over the phone! Don't hesitate to ask me anything. Please see my guidebook, or the pamphlets in the house for suggested restaurants and sightseeing. New AC units keep the house cool in the summer, gas heaters keep it warm in the winter. The house has lots of amazing old world touches you can't see in the photos -- like 12 foot ceilings! Enjoy your stay!
