The Peary Homestead is a fully renovated historical home in Germantown, NY built in the 1840s by Captain Robert Peary. Ideally situated 10 minutes from Hudson, 15 minutes from Rhinebeck, and 40 minutes from Hunter and Wyndham Mountains, enjoy proximity to top restaurants, antiquing, nature trails and ski slopes. Take advantage of our newly built chef's kitchen, 3 woodburning fireplaces, luxurious primary suite and multiple spaces for relaxing and entertaining indoors and out. The space Our house is best enjoyed by families. We have a 4,000 square foot main house with 1 primary bedroom with a king bed (sleeps 2 adults), 1 guest bedroom with a king bed (sleeps 2 adults), 1 children's bunk bedroom (sleeps 2 kids), and 1 nursery (sleeps 1 infant). On the ground floor, a fully screened exterior porch with comfortable seating and an outdoor dining area provides enjoyment well into fall. Just inside, the chef's kitchen features another casual dining area and wood burning fireplace provides a cozy atmosphere for cooking and entertaining. In addition, the first level features a walk-in pantry, mudroom, formal dining room, living room, office, half bath and sunroom overlooking the gardens. The perfect winter refuge, this home has 3 fireplaces in total scattered throughout the lower level. On the second floor, the primary bedroom includes a gas fireplace, en suite bath with a shower and freestanding bath tub, and 2 walk-in dressing room closets. Beyond the primary bedroom, you will find 3 more bedrooms on this level, including a guest suite with a full en suite bathroom, as well as a full bathroom in the hallway available for the 2 other bedrooms. A playroom is available for children next to a laundry room with a washer and dryer. In addition, we have an 800 square foot Carriage House with 2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom with a shower and bathtub. 1x king bed (sleeps 2 adults) and 1x queen bed (sleeps 2 adults). A common area with a dining table and chairs and coffee and beverage station completes the interior of the Carriage House. Note that the Carriage House rooms are accessed via exterior stairs and on a second floor above a two car garage. The house is surrounded by 4 acres of lawn and gardens perched above the Hudson River. An outdoor pergola provides an atmospheric backdrop for dinner al fresco, along with multiple seating areas for cocktails beforehand. Our greenhouse and cutting garden provides an opportunity to make your own flower arrangements in the spring, summer, and early autumn. The property also features a heated in ground pool which is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy any part of the property. Other things to note The property is also available for long term or seasonal rentals. Please note that parties and visitors outside of the guests included in the booking are not permitted.
