The space Welcome to Sweet Lady Genevieve! Built in 1897, this two-story Victorian is the perfect blend of original and new. You can appreciate the beautiful hardwood floors, original doors, and high ceilings, while at the same time benefit from the smart devices: Keyless entry, thermostat, Alexa spots, and smart TVs. The main floor features a large living room, with all new furnishings including a very soft and comfortable velvet couch and leather chairs. Watch your favorite Netflix show on the smart TV, listen to some tunes on the turn table, or Alexa, or play Trivia Pursuit with the family. Open the original pocket doors and enter the dining room. Gather around the large antique table with space for 8 and share a delicious family meal. Off the dining room is the completely redone downstairs bathroom. It has a spacious walk-in shower, a new toilet, and an antique console sink. Continue past the bathroom and there is the remodeled kitchen. New countertops, sink, and floor and backsplash tile complement the stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked with place settings for eight. Additional appliances include a blender, toaster oven, waffle maker, and mixer. The coffee maker has a pot and single-use pods. We provide some pods in the coffee jar. In the middle of the kitchen is the custom-built island with bar stools for four. So whether you plan to make a five-course meal or order pizza, this kitchen has everything you need. Off the kitchen is the game room. Relax on the comfy couch, listen to music on the Alexa Spot, or watch a movie on the large smart TV. You can also try your hand at one of the 60 retro arcade games like Pac-Man, Galaga, or Donkey Kong on the cocktail game console. There's also a wide assortment of board games, puzzles, some art supplies, and a bin of legos for the kiddos. If you need to get some work done, there's a comfortable-sized desk and office chair with countless outlets to charge devices. The high-speed wifi is strong. After a fun-filled day of touring the town, visiting the wineries, or checking out the historic homes in the National Park, head upstairs for a good night's sleep. There are 4 bedrooms, all on the second floor. The main bedroom features a king-sized bed, and the other three bedrooms have queens. All mattresses are hybrid with coil and memory foam. All bedrooms have ceiling fans, an extra blanket, and ample USB ports for all your charging needs. The sheets are of the highest quality. 400% thread count 100% long-staple cotton, sateen weave, soft and smooth by Fix Linens. The large upstairs bathroom has a clawfoot tub with a shower. We offer natural liquid soap, hand/body lotion, and combo body wash shampoo created by a local company called KIND Soap. Geneviève was settled by French Canadians around 1735 on the west bank of the Mississippi River about two miles south of its present location. Much of Historic Ste. Geneviève’s charm and ambiance are due to the remarkable preservation of the original colonial settlement.
