The space We offer fantastic value for this fully self-contained accommodation, with very generous weekly and monthly discounts popular with both workers and tourists. Your own separate and private guest wing in this impressive architecturally-designed pavilion home is a wonderful space to relax, unwind and rejuvenate. While our other guest wing is gorgeously bright and colourful, this guest wing has a serene, homely, muted gold theme and feels more like your home away from home. :-) There is undercover parking and unlimited, high speed NBN wi-fi for your convenience. Be nurtured by your bushland surroundings, spot birds and wallabies, enjoy your spacious deck next to your room, complete with undercover BBQ area, table & chairs and sun lounges. (Our weather is better than many places on the Tablelands, which has many micro-climates.) Your comfy queen bed, desk, sofa and kitchenette are configured to provide you with the most space and convenience possible - very suitable and practical for long stays. Abundant light fills your ensuite, and there is also an outdoor, undercover, 12-jet spa bath in a shared area, which, by arrangement, you can reserve for your private use. (It's an optional extra for $10, or complimentary for guests who stay a week or more. 🤩) Your guest wing has a new, very well-equipped kitchenette. There are plenty of kitchen appliances for your convenience, including a multi-function oven, microwave oven, hotplates, toaster, kettle, bullet blender, coffee plunger and more. Filtered rainwater, organic coffee, assorted teas & milk are provided. (If you prefer plant-based milk, just ask.) The bar fridge ensures extra kitchen bench space, and if you need more than its basic freezer space, let us know (we can cater for this). The shared washing machine is available to you, complimentary, including septic-safe laundry powder. Your guest wing is fully gauze-screened, though insects are minimal. We prioritise well-being, with a smoke-free and intoxication-free policy (drugs or excessive alcohol), and an assortment of free-to-use bonuses available for you: ~ far-infrared sauna blanket ~ Zen Chi machine ~ quality yoga mats ~ massage gun ~ massage table ~ Nikken Wellness magnetic overlay ~ assortment of oracle cards ~ relaxation music (Bluetooth speaker provided) ~ life-affirming books and DVD movies. (Plus Chromecast for access to a world of good content.) "Look at the stars, see how they shine for you." ... enjoy our spectacular night sky. All the better for sitting around the outdoor fire pit (a lovely treat when the weather is behaving). ***Please note: If you're travelling with others and need two rooms, follow the 'other listings' link on our profile to check availability. (If that's booked already, ask about another option we may have.) By arrangement (at additional cost), sound healing/sound meditation and life coaching may be available. (Please ask for details.) We have many other plans that we look forward to developing over time, so our already-special sanctuary can only get better! Most places on the Tablelands can be travelled to within an hour. (Atherton 55 minutes, Yungaburra 65 minutes, Malanda 45 minutes, Millaa Millaa 30 minutes, Herberton 40 minutes, Innot Hot Springs 30 minutes.) We're 15 minutes from Millstream Falls, less than 10 minutes to Little Millstream Falls and just 10 minutes from Ravenshoe - a well-serviced town including two cafes, a bakery and two pubs. We look forward to sharing our slice of paradise with you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Jirrbal people, and pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging. We also appreciate and pay our respects to anyone else who loves and honours the land, our mother earth. Guest access It's sealed roads all the way to our level driveway, so it's total ease for any type of vehicle. Enter the property via the battle axe driveway (very private, out of sight from the quiet country road, look for the orange feather flags). Follow the driveway to the yellow feather flags and pull up immediately to your left, at the front of the house, to unload your vehicle. Beep your horn to alert us of your arrival. (A mud map and pics are provided after booking.) With zero stairs for ease with your luggage, the guest wing is first on the right as you enter the covered breezeway. Once you've unloaded your vehicle, you can park it in the double carport further around the circular driveway (which is shared if there is another guest in the other, totally separate guest wing). In your fabulous new kitchen there are plenty of appliances for your convenience, including a fridge, multi-function oven, microwave oven, hotplates, toaster, kettle, bullet blender, filtered water & coffee plunger. Organic coffee, assorted teas & UHT milk are provided (if you prefer plant-based milk let us know). The washing machine in the shared laundry is available to you at no cost, with complementary, eco/safe laundry powder. Other things to note ~ When you book a stay with us, you are confirming that you understand that our sanctuary (indoors and outdoors) is a smoke-free, drug-free and intoxication-free zone and you agree to abide by this. Drinking in moderation is okay. We will check this with you when you request to book. ~ Any property has ongoing work and maintenance. We also have projects as we evolve the property and the facilities. Wherever possible we avoid doing anything noisy while you are here. If it can't be avoided, we minimise wherever possible. If you have any concern at any time, please just let us know. ~ Nature provides us with lots of lovely, quiet nights ... and at other times it also provides us with the sound of storms, curlews, wild Guinea fowl and pond life! ~ Our other AirBnB listing/guest wing is across the breezeway from your guest wing. While you are in separate buildings under the one large roof, sometimes you'll hear other guests, though mostly in an unobtrusive way. We promote and encourage peace and quiet. So far it has not been necessary to ask guests to quieten down, though we would do so if need be. :-) ~ We provide organic and natural personal care and cleaning products for practical, health and ecological reasons. We prefer that you refrain from using any of your own products that may be unsuitable for septic systems. ~ During the wet season especially, thunderstorms can be severe. It’s not uncommon for the mains power to blackout. We provide rechargeable L.E.D. lights and we have back up power for fridges/lights. (Eventually we'll be fully self-sufficient for power, with mains as a back up.) ~ On our road (Eucalyptus Rd) there are often many, many wallabies, and sometimes Guinea fowl. Please drive mindfully. ~ We live in a bushland micro-climate in the tropics, and on very rare occasions when it rains very heavily, the creek between Ravenshoe and our neighbourhood (Millstream south) can rise rapidly, however, it goes down again quickly. Being flexible with your plans anywhere in the tropics is the best approach. If you have to be somewhere critically important (e.g. the airport), it is best to keep watch on the weather forecast and the radar map, and if need be, plan extra time accordingly. ~ Your guest wing has a heater and plenty of comfy bedding for the cooler seasons. ~ Your main room has a ceiling fan and a pedestal fan. While there is no air-conditioning, and we do get hot days, the elevation of the Tablelands for the most part makes the climate a lot cooler than down on the coast. ~ Telstra network has the best signal. Optus and Vodafone network phone signals also work here. ~ Note: The small local supermarkets closer to us are limited and expensive. If you're staying for a while and need to do a big food shop, Atherton, Innisfail and Cairns are better options. Fresh fruit and vegetables are also available from most of the weekend markets around the Tablelands (the market days and locations are provided in your house manual). We invite you to come and immerse yourself in our sanctuary and all that the Tablelands has to offer!
