Our deluxe hilltop retreat is a beautifully converted 18th century barn with heaps of character, nestled in the Blackdown Hills (AONB) with some of the finest views in Devon. It's the perfect escape for couples or a young family. It's surprisingly spacious, warm and comfortable, tastefully decorated and kitted out to a high modern standard. DOWNSTAIRS • Lounge The lounge has a cosy feel, and the log burner ensures a warm and relaxing space to read a book or indulge in your favourite Netflix or Prime series. • Kitchen The well-equipped, fully fitted kitchen has a bright and airy feel with modern appliances, including a fridge/freezer, double oven, kettle, toaster, induction hob, and dishwasher. There is also a larder under the stairs for storing essential groceries. Additional dining chairs will also be stored here. • Utility Room The functional utility room contains a washing machine and tumble dryer, along with a clothes airer, iron and ironing board, to accommodate all your laundry requirements. • Downstairs Toilet There is a small downstairs toilet, with a toilet and wash basin for your convenience. • Stairs Leading up from the kitchen, the stairs are an original feature, and some have narrow steps. Therefore, you will need to take care when stepping up to the bedroom and mezzanine area. Young children will also need to take extra care. UPSTAIRS • Double Bedroom The peaceful master double bedroom, has mounted sliding oak doors to allow for privacy from the adjoining dressing room and ensuite bathroom. It has a Velux window with blackout blind to guarantee a good night’s sleep. The high quality, double memory foam mattress also has a memory foam topper, guaranteeing a cosy, uninterrupted and comfortable sleeping experience. • Ensuite Bathroom You will find a toilet, electric shower, and hand basin including a vanity storage unit for skincare, toiletries, and make-up essentials. Fluffy towels will be provided to use during your stay with us. • Dressing Room The dressing room is spacious with substantial wardrobe and cupboard storage. There are hangers, a hairdryer, and a portable electric heater for your use. Perfect for a young family, guests can also use this as a second bedroom. There is a single sofa bed and 2x Futon Company bed in bags, providing flexible sleeping accommodation. • Mezzanine This is a characterful feature and includes a storage area, with a Velux window providing ample sunlight. There is a single Z-bed available providing additional sleeping accommodation. OUTSIDE • Private Parking & EV Charger There are two parking spaces, one directly outside The Barn porch, alongside the wall and/or in the first left parking bay. The dedicated EV charger is located by the back door of our house to use at your convenience. • 4 Acres of Private Land We would like to invite you to take a stroll in our private, sloped field, where you will enjoy some of the finest views in Hemyock. On a clear day, you will see across to Dartmoor. At nighttime, with benefitting from zero light pollution and on a clear night, you can enjoy lying under the stars and can sometimes see the Milky Way. // Private Garden The Barn benefits from its own small private garden, which contains a couple of planting beds. You can also access our private field via the back of the barn, where you will have access to apples and damsons (when in season). Guest access You can gain access to The Barn with a key provided. It can be found in the key safe, positioned next to the front door. Guests also have access to a small enclosed garden for their own private use. Other things to note Unfortunately no pets allowed.
