The space We truly hope you enjoy your stay and that the home is comfortable for you. If you need anything, please reach out! GENERAL: There is no smoking (any kind) allowed in our home per airbnb policy. We also do not allow smoking on our property. Please keep the thermostat set between 65-72. The nest thermostat can be adjusted by twisting the housing dial right or left. We do not provide shampoo, conditioner, or body wash as we have found most people have their own preference and we would like to reduce any unnecessary, single-use waste. Trash bin is in the kitchen with extra trash bags under the sink. Recycle bin is in the back entry 'drop zone' lower right cabinet. The recycle bin does not need a bag on it as trash bags are not recyclable. Please take care to not get liquid/food waste in the recycle bin to help avoid stickiness and bad smells. Trash and Recycle collection bins are located between the garage and the deck at the alley and should stay in their positions so they can be serviced. Typical collection day is Thursday for trash and every other Thursday for recycling, but the days may fluctuate with holiday schedules. If the bins remain in their positions in the alley they will be serviced and you won't need to keep track of the pickup schedule. If you want to reference the pickup schedule you can do so on the City of West Allis website or reach out and we can help verify the schedule for you. You can use the washer/dryer during your stay. We provide laundry pods and dryer sheets. Both living room tvs are smart tvs, hardwired to the internet. We do not have cable nor any host-paid subscriptions to any streaming apps. You are able to log into any of the apps you have subscriptions for during your stay. During rainy or snowy weather, there are mats for the back steps located in the basement at the bottom of the stairs. This will help keep the back stairs clean and dry. Typical propane grill, charcoal, or smoker. We provide a propane tank for typical grill usage. Please let us know if the meter on the tank is reading low so we can arrange to get it filled. The valve on the propane should be turned off between uses to avoid any leaks. If you are unsure about how to safely utilize the grill with any of the fuel types, please do not use the grill and reach out with any questions. Please put the cover back on the grill once the grill has cooled down. The grill cover should always be on the grill when not in use. The grill needs to be cleaned after every use - grates, lid, side table, etc. The garage will accommodate two standard cars/SUVs. Long SUVs/trucks and taller trucks will not fit in the garage, but there is plenty of space on the driveway to park. The garage door opener will be left in the back entry 'drop zone' upper cabinet for you and should be returned to that same location at checkout. A garage door opener not returned will result in a $200 fine. PETS: If you are traveling with your dog, we have a zipline style tie out connecting the back of the house to the garage with a lead on it for your pet to safely utilize the backyard which is partially fenced in. Please make sure to clean up all of the dog poop in a timely manner and make sure that all dog poop is cleaned up prior to checkout. All dog poop should be bagged and disposed of in the trash bin in the back alley. Extra poop bags can be found in the back entry 'drop zone' upper cabinet in case you need any. Fee for any dog poop not cleaned up will be $100. Again, if you're traveling with your pet, we have an absorbent mat that can be used under food/water dishes (please don't use towels). That mat can be found in the main floor hall closet outside the bathroom. Please plan to bring your pet's food/water dishes as we do not have any here for your use and would prefer that kitchen bowls are not used for this purpose. There is a fee for having your pet(s) in our home charged at the time of booking. If we find that there was a pet in our home during the stay without approval/appropriate booking fee the guest will be charged $250. CLEANING: The front closet (that connects to the front queen bedroom) has a cordless vacuum, broom/dustpan, and swiffer (with dry and wet pads) in it for any clean up necessary during your stay. You'll find a fabric cleaner (little green machine) in the basement next to the laundry for any spills on fabric surfaces including rugs. If you are unsure about how to use the little green machine, please reach out and we can assist with directions. If you are unsure and do not want to reach out, please do not use the machine and aim to clean up the spill as best as possible. Whatever you do, we don't want to make any spill or stain worse or set it into the fabric that it's on, so please default to leaving the stain for our cleaning staff to professionally deal with to avoid unnecessary damage. The main floor hall closet has common household cleaners in it for your use. We have provided black makeup towels to avoid stains on our main body and hand towels. If stains are left on our main (gray) body, hand, or face towels that the professional cleaning staff cannot get out, the guest will be charged $30 per damaged towel. We also have a few junk towels in the basement near the laundry area for any gross messes or possible mud/salt/snow tracked in from outside. Please rinse the used towels and hang to dry on the utility sink or run a quick load of laundry so that the used towels don't sit and get gross/musty. We're just asking you to treat our home and our supplies/amenities as if they were your own so we can continue to offer them to future guests. Thank you. There are orange, plastic drain snakes provided in the main floor hall closet if any of the drains are running slowly. Please try to collect large amounts of hair to be disposed of in the trash rather than allowing them to run into the drains. SAFETY: The electrical panel is just to the left of the stairs when you enter the basement. If any of the breakers are tripped you'll see either a light on them or they will be slightly skewed in their positioning. Flip them off first and then back on to reset. If a tripped breaker occurs, please let us know - which breaker and what might have caused the trip (what was plugged in, how many appliances, duration, etc). The main house water shut off is in the basement towards the street (front of house). It's located above the water meter and should be turned all the way to the left to have water access and all the way to the right to restrict water access. Each sink and toilet also have their own shut offs so you can selectively turn those off in case of a leak. Again, if anything happens to cause you to want to turn any of the water supply lines off, please notify us of the situation. There are various smoke detectors around the home and a carbon monoxide detector in the basement. There are two fire extinguishers in the home - one beneath the kitchen sink and one in the closet in the upstairs bathroom. Please do not tamper with the fire extinguishers. If there is a need to use them please do so - then call emergency services, then communicate with us so we are aware of the situation. Guest access All of the home besides two locked supply closets
