Mabel the Shepherd’s Hut with Castle view

Mabel our beautiful Shepherd’s hut, was built here on the farm by us. Nestled in a peaceful corner of our small stud farm, you will have complete privacy with no neighbours, surrounded only by nature. Mabel offers a tranquil space to digitally detox, with views out across the fields to the historic Belvoir castle. Mabel has a a wood fired hot tub set in a clearing in the woodland & an outdoor bath, perfect for relaxing & stargazing. Inside a mini hobbit wood burning stove will keep you warm. The space Mabel the Shepherds hut is approximately a three minute walk from the farm entrance where you will park your car. A festival style pull trolley is provided to aid you in transporting your luggage. Mabel is situated at the far end of the stud farm down a track through a paddock/ young woodland. Suitable foot wear such as walking boots or welly’s may be needed weather depending. A torch will be handy for when is dark. You will have complete privacy as Mabel is the only Shepherds hut on site. Mabel has a beautiful secluded garden with a wood fired hot tub. You will only have the owl, fox and hares for company. You will have exclusive access to two outdoor spaces - a patio in front of Mabel that has a roomy outdoor bath, a fire pit, a bbq/ smoker, pallet seating and an outdoor kitchen. At the rear of Mabel there is an open grassy area with more pallet seating, a tripod bbq, Sun loungers and deckchairs. Mabel has a raised king sized bed with a comfy Simba mattress, cotton/bamboo duvet and cotton bedding. There’s a seating area with table, kitchen workspace, sink and a hobbit wood burning stove. Mabel has an en-suite shower and modern compost toilet. Mabel is off grid but does have a solar panel providing 12v power for charging small electronics and powering the lights. The hot water is solar and gas powered and the wood burner is more than adequate to heat Mabel even in the coldest of weather. On site there is an extra toilet and shower room that you will have access to plus a charge point for any larger devices. Please note that Mabel is off grid and remote so if the weather is very cold and temperatures fall below zero there is a strong chance that the water may freeze. This could mean there is no running water to the sinks/ shower. Water can be provided for handwashing and drinking. There is also a mains shower and toilet available onsite in the stables area. Guest access You will have sole access to Mabel and the outdoor area surrounding the Shepherds hut. This includes a front patio with outdoor kitchen, fire pit and bath. A back seating area and grassy space leading to our recently installed wood fired hot tub set within a clearing in our juvenile woodland. You can also use the flushing toilet and shower situated in the right hand corner of the stable block. During periods of freezing weather there is a chance that the pipes may freeze and there won’t be any running water. Back up water can be provided plus there is a toilet and shower within the stables that can be used. Other things to note Please note that the Shepherds hut is off grid. During periods of extreme weather there is a chance that the pipes may freeze and there won’t be any running water. The hut is also solely heated by the wood burning stove so it will get cold if the stove isn’t on or dies out over night. Thermals and slippers are advised during these cold spells.
