Other things to note Neighborhood description: On the Spatzenhof, known to the elders in the village as "Lünkenhoff," Gerold Sagemüller came up with the idea of a neighborhood-oriented, ecological farm community in 1996. The agricultural land, a total of 75 ha., is managed according to Bioland guidelines. The farm complex on the edge of Holstein Switzerland is a cultural monument, consisting of a farmhouse and five stable and barn buildings. Due to the protected status, four of the six former agricultural buildings were allowed to be converted for residential purposes. The renovation with natural materials took place with a lot of empathy by the architect Klaus Jungk. The simple rural character was deliberately maintained. Directly adjacent to the farm is a golf course, also ecologically managed with many fruit trees and shrubs. When leasing, it was important to Gerold Sagemüller that future areas must also be managed ecologically. Currently, the course has 18 holes and a short hole course. Guests are welcome there. The area with the Curauer Moor and its spring hills is special. Together with the nature reserve vis-à-vis the farm and the cultivated areas of ours, we live like on an ecological island. There are shopping facilities in Bad Schwartau and Stockelsdorf. We would particularly like to mention the fully stocked organic Landwege market in Bad Schwartau, which is supplied by the surrounding member farms, among others.
