Description
Part of a 16th Century estate, this listing is for two of our Airbnb's joined together should you wish to book for 6 They're separated by a cobbled yard, but provide accommodation for 6 between them. Gardener's Cottage, a quirky 2 bedroom cottage with dining & seating / lounging space for 6, an small courtyard and wood fired hottub (sits 4 at a push...) and The Apple Loft across the yard - a newly converted mezzanine space with it's own kitchen & bathroom and a 2 person hot tub. The space It's a challenge to describe these properties together, but here I go! Both properties are slightly quirky conversions of outbuildings on a 16th Century manor house. Something's been here since 1115 or so. Gardener's Cottage and The Apple Loft face each other, and are separated by a cobbled yard - the distance from door to door is approximately 3m. Perfect if you have friends who snore, kids who row, that sort of thing. It's worth saying before you read on that if you (or your pets) have any sort of mobility issues, these might not be the properties for you. Oversize steps and a tight spiral staircase in Garden Cottage and a mezzanine accessed by a library ladder in the Apple Loft. Gardener's Cottage has a full kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms, large sitting room with a dining table for 6. Upstairs via a tight spiral staircase is the main bedroom with an Emperor sized bed and a smaller room with two singles. The bathroom has a bath and a VERY small shower attachment - it's not possible to stand up in the shower BUT you could have a bath or use the shower at The Apple Loft. The Apple Loft has a full bathroom with an open plan kitchen / sitting room with a mezzanine sleeping area with a king sized bed. The mezzanine is accessed by a loft ladder. There is a small courtyard with a 2-4 person wood-fired hot tub (we ask for a contribution towards the fuel and water of £15 to heat it. Mainly so you only pay for using it and not if you don't) There is also a small patio and 2 person hot tub at The Apple Loft It is indeed an unusual set up - if you have any questions or would like some more clarity or pictures, do let me know. Guest access The houses are access via a shared courtyard, they're opposite each other, and there may be 2 cars belonging to my lovely neighbours that will use the cobbled yard. There is decent parking approx 30 second walk from the front doors - parking right outside the houses is possible for loading and unloading. Other things to note We like to be totally open and honest about the place, so here are some observations to be crystal clear and manage your expectations!!! - The pictures show the yard in full summer bloom. It will not look like this in winter!! - The stairs are tight in the Gardener's Cottage. I am a big lad, and come down them backwards. You might also find it tricky to get a large dog up the stairs in either house. - The decor is quirky. If you're looking for a snazzy, white minimalist place, this isn't for you! - It's a 16th century house - cobwebs appear in the blink of any eye. We ALWAYS clean to a high standard, if you see a cobweb or anything that isn't right, let us know and we will make it better. - The hot tub is wood fired. We do all we can to make sure the instructions are clear and / or we can light it for you. The reason there is an additional charge for it's use is so that you don't pay for something you may not use or doesn't get hot enough. We do not profit from the contribution.
