The Silo Cumbria

The Silo is a completely unique holiday stay, based in the beautiful countryside in North Cumbria. Originally a grain store tower, it has been completely reimagined and renovated as a one bedroom home-away-from-home. The unique building has retained the shape and structure of the original silo with luxury amenities and finishes throughout. The space The Silo is situated in a secluded area of a working farm, with incredible views reaching out to the Solway Coast and the Lake District. Although the owners are not far away, you have complete privacy and a feeling of escapism, albeit with a few nosy sheep and cows who may come to say hello. The entrance to The Silo has room for coats and walking boots, perfect after a day out exploring the countryside. Also on the ground floor is a large bedroom, with a King Size bed, fresh white bed linen, built in wardrobe and vanity table. Next door, there is a shower room with overhead shower, toilet and sink. Up the curved stairwell, a large kitchen and living area has been bespoke built, encircling the whole first floor. The kitchen has all the amenities you may need to rustle up some delicious dishes. With windows on all sides, the views are constantly changing with the seasons, and the crops. A pull-out sofa bed is available for two extra guests which can be requested on booking. At one side, double doors open out onto the large balcony, perfect to enjoy the sunrise, an afternoon coffee, or simply to relish the peace. Outside The Silo, an incredible wooden Hot Tub is available for all guests. Guest access To access The Silo you must drive through the working part of the farm, before heading up a private track. The Silo is just a 3 minute walk from the farm house, but due to the location will feel completely secluded. During your stay, you will have complete private access and own use of the facilities. At different times of the year, and depending on farming requirements, there may be some farm work going on in the surrounding fields. Other things to note The Silo sleeps 2 guests but can accommodate 4 when using the sofa bed. This must be requested upon booking. Unfortunately, due to the proximity of livestock, dogs are not allowed. Parking is available right outside The Silo.
