Idaho Wilderness Yurts is a curated experience that appeals to the most avid adventurer while also being accessible to the average family with kids bundled up and towed in a pulk. In the snowy season, ski, snowshoe or snowmobile 3.3 miles along beautiful, groomed trails to the three-yurt village nestled in the middle of thousands of miles of National Forest land. Guests are responsible for coming prepared for any situation that may arise in the backcountry. The space Note: our yurts are guest-cleaned. Please leave them cleaner than you found them! Idaho Wilderness Yurts is located about 90 minutes outside of Boise via Highway 21 and Idaho City and offers opportunities for self-led backcountry adventures year-round. In the snowy season, ski, snowshoe or snowmobile 3.3 miles along beautiful, groomed trails to the three-yurt village nestled in the middle of thousands of miles of National Forest land Guests can enjoy luxuries uncommon in the backcountry including memory foam mattresses, solar power, a refrigerator, granite countertops in the fully-equipped dry kitchen and even an indoor toilet! Once you're settled with a roaring fire, savor a snow-crisped beer to celebrate your arrival, pick up an ax for an old fashioned work out splitting wood, or simply play games and read while simmering soup on the wood stove. When you’re ready to take relaxation to a new level, heat up the wood-fired sauna that overlooks the river. Guests are responsible for navigation and must come prepared for any situation that may arise in the backcountry. There is no cell reception at the yurts. See our winter guide for details. Wintertime parking permits must be purchased in advance through Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation for a modest fee. During the warm season: The yurts are accessible by car and provide a launchpad for adventures in the North Fork of the Boise River Watershed. Nearby attractions include hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, ATV/4-wheeling, and exploring the southern slopes of the Sawtooth Mountains Activity guides for every season are available at the Idaho Wilderness Yurts website (search for it). Please keep your pets off of all furniture to help keep the place clean and smelling fresh. Two dog beds are provided in each yurt to give them a cozy place to sleep! Pets are NOT allowed in the Red Yurt in order to create a welcoming space for those who have pet allergies.
