Explore the riverside walking trails or enjoy your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the river. Heron's Rest is a quaint tiny home nestled in the woods on just over two acres beside one of the largest set of rapids on the Petite River. Located just 1.5 hours from Halifax, this quiet and private rental is just off the main road giving quick access to the wide range of local interest and activities. It's the perfect location for a romantic getaway for two or a personal retreat. The house is fully equipped with a wood -burning fireplace (wood is included), fridge, stove, dishwasher and laundry facilities. It will sleep 2 in the main bedroom queen-sized bed. The large deck which overlooks the river is accessed off the kitchen and includes a BBQ and outdoor dining facilities. Guests can enjoy a quiet evening on the deck listening to the river and watching the stars or build a bonfire in the riverside fire pit. This is a wonderful community close to local beaches, steeped with history and full of charm. Petite Riviere is just a few minutes away and has a general store (complete with liquor store). Have one of their wonderful cups of coffee and enjoy a few minutes on their deck sharing a "yarn" with the locals. Just a short walk away you can visit the Petite Riviere Winery. Sip a lovely glass of wine or cider on the deck overlooking the vineyard. Or, take a tour and do a tasting. Enjoy the beauty and fun offered by the South Shore, explore its abundant beaches, restaurants, shopping and music there is something for everyone! Or, sit back and enjoy the river and the gardens. Guest access The entire property is yours to roam, a gentle pathway takes you down to the river rapids and along the shore then back up through the gardens. The river is a great place to sit and read, meditate or take a cool dip in the summertime. The deck has several areas to sit and relax or enjoy a meal and comes complete with a BBQ. Other things to note The cottage does not have air conditioning in every room. A window unit is provided in the bedroom for your sleeping comfort and there are fans throughout the rest of the space.
