Description

Beautiful, characterful and sunny Victorian family home set over two floors with 2 double bedrooms and a large bathroom - as well as a cosy private garden - in the Ladywell / Catford area of Lewisham, south-east London. Cat sitters are very welcome as there's a super-friendly 13 y/o house cat. He can also be fed and watered by our next door neighbours, though he will still have access to our home through his catflap and will therefore be around in the house to sleep by his favourite window. The space We are an artist and architect couple and have slowly and lovingly renovated the interiors with an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area downstairs and a small study space leading straight into the garden. It’s perfect for a family and is a only a few minutes walk from a lovely park. The house is in a quiet Victorian terraced street, with Scandinavian style furniture, and a small home library of art, architecture and literature. The House: The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay in London. There are 2 double bedrooms upstairs: * 1 master bedroom with a King-sized bed. This bedroom is south-facing and overlooks a quiet street. * 1 second double bedroom looks over the garden with a very comfy sofa bed and mattress. * Upstairs is a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and a free-standing bathtub. Downstairs is open-plan with a dining room and a south-facing living room, with new radiator heating and super fast wifi. The kitchen includes a washing machine and dishwasher as well as a full-height fridge-freezer, a gas cooking hob and a super-efficient electric oven. There’s lots of storage cupboards, a pull-out larder and drawers with everything you’ll need. The garden has cedar fencing all around with a variety of border plants and trees around a small grass lawn. There’s a large picnic table and garden chairs on a limestone patio area. The Location: The neighbourhood is a family-friendly area with excellent transport links into central London as well as nearby shops, supermarkets, parks and cafes. There's an illustrated House Guide that provides lots of useful information and tips about exploring the local area. Two train stations are just a 10 minute walk away with frequent connections to central London (Charing Cross, Waterloo, London Bridge, Kings Cross St Pancras) in 9 - 20 minutes. There are also lots of buses at the end of our street to Greenwich, Blackheath and Dulwich Village and the DLR is 10 minutes away with connections to the Docklands, The City and Stratford. Guest access Full and exclusive access for you to the entire home and garden for the duration of your stay. Other things to note We can arrange on-street parking vouchers for a parking space directly in front of the house which are a separate minor cost. Our cat goes to the loo outdoors (no litter tray) and is short-hair (minimal shedding) so he is no trouble to have around. He can be fed and watered by our next door neighbours if you so wish, and is likely to spend his time freely between our houses while we are away. He does like to sleep on couches etc but if you keep the bedroom doors closed he won't go there.
