Non-smoking unit (allowed on the patio). Car port. Dry yard. Within walking distance to the beach and a 5 min drive from central town. The space Welcome to our Whale Rock Resort (WRR) unit. You are staying in a work of love, and we hope that you will enjoy the unit and the environment as much as we do when we are in town. Did you notice the “This is us” sign above the patio door? There is a beautiful story behind that sign! WRR (5 blocks of four units each) is a Body Corporate (BC). As with any BC, there are a few simple and basic rules to observe to ensure that all the residents live in harmony and with mutual respect. Please take note of the following (the WRR rules are in bold): 1. You are welcome to use all the appliances. The unit is not equipped with DSTV, but you can use the Samsung Smart TV to log into your streaming accounts. 2. Check the inventory and ensure all is accounted for. 3. Maximum four persons per unit. 4. Your parking is restricted to the no 12 covered parking bay. 5. Your visitor’s parking (if needed) is restricted to the “Resort Visitor” parking bays. PLEASE avoid the “Village Visitor” bays across the road from WRR. 6. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed with short term tenants. 7. Keep noise levels low, especially between 10pm and 8am. 8. No smoking in the unit. You are welcome to smoke on the patio but do keep the patio door closed. The same applies for vaping. 9. You are sharing the dry yard with the upstairs unit. 10. There are two awnings on the patio. The awning crank handles are under the L-shape couch. 11. Crank both awnings before you go to the bed at night to avoid wind or water damage. 12. Refuse. Place your black refuse bags in the dry yard. It will be collected. 13. Pool. The WRR pool is for your use. Keep the pool gate closed, and your children supervised (The bigger pool at Whale Rock Village is exclusive to members of Whale Rock Village and the Homeowners Association. Please do not use that pool). 14. Our trusted and friendly gardener Jonathan will be in on Mondays for an hour or three to tend to the garden (excluding December). 15. The BC garden service is in on every second Tuesday, which will include the cleaning of patios and common areas like staircases and landings. 16. Loadshedding. The TV, soundbar and internet connection is connected to an Eco River power bank. Same will work during loadshedding. No need to make any changes to the power bank when the power goes off. The change over is automatic and the power bank will recharge when the loadshedding is over. The screw in globes are loadshedding globes. A Cadac camping gas stove with kettle is available to boil water or cook a meal during loadshedding. If you are not familiar with Plett, the beach is within easy walking distance. Take a right at the exit gate, follow the road over a parking area, cross the wooden bridge over the vlei, turn right at the T and then first road left. Walk up the short but steep hill, enter the wooden walkway, and follow it to the beach. Alternatively, you can take a three-minute drive to one of the beaches with a parking area. Enjoy your stay!
