Plan your tranquil getaway to the countryside and escape to a luxury dream farmhouse. Located on 5 acres, the fully renovated home offers peace in a quiet, private location. Guests have access to a pool and outdoor shower, fire pit, a covered grilling area and a playground for children. The home is located approximately 1hr from Washington DC and is the perfect place for a retreat, family vacation and everything in between! Plenty of parking available for those traveling with boat/camper/RV. The space The farmhouse is equipped with everything that you need for private gatherings with friends or family. Our property invites you outdoors- take a dip in the pool or roast marshmallows by the firepit as you enjoy nature. The home offers plenty of parking space, a nicely equipped kitchen, pool, playground for children, firepit and covered grilling area. There are four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, as well as an additional room dedicated as an office space with a desk, computer monitors and a Bowflex Max Trainer bike. Enjoy cooking in the kitchen that includes a walk-in pantry, marble counters, farmhouse sink and updated appliances. The laundry room is on the main floor and includes an XL washer and dryer, heated floors, a cast iron farmhouse sink, marble counters, and a beverage refrigerator. There is an extra washer and dryer located in the kitchen closet if needed. The primary bedroom downstairs has a king bed, walk in closet, a spa-like luxury bathroom with heated marble floors, a heated marble walk-in shower and large cast iron soaking tub. Upstairs you will find three additional bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The second floor has another primary bedroom with en-suite, full bathroom and walk-in closet. There is an additional full bathroom located in the hallway upstairs for the other two bedrooms. Guests will be provided with amenities such as laundry detergent, towels, pool towels, extra bedding and pillows, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper and paper towels. There are pool umbrellas located in the pool house for guest use. Beside the garage you can find several children’s bicycles. Exterior security cameras are located on the property. Cameras are not located inside of the home. Guest access The home is fully yours, except for one walk in closet in the downstairs primary bedroom. The closet is being used for supplies. The garage is also being used for storage and is not accessible. The red barn and field area are closed off for guest safety. Feel free to use the covered grilling area attached to the barn. Please be careful around the sawmill. There is a leaf blower at the grilling area that can be used if you need it. Please put it back when finished and place the battery back on the charger. The battery is mounted on the beam over the sawmill. The field behind the home is a working hay field and is off limits. Additionally, there is tree line of green giant trees to the left of the home/property (with mini goats on the other side). Please, as tempting as it may seem, do not wander onto any of our neighbors properties as they respect their privacy. Thank you! Smoking is not permitted inside the home. We ask that shoes be removed and that no drinks or food are taken upstairs in the carpeted areas. A little about the property: My wife, Martha, and I purchased our Farmette in Huntingtown in 2016 after living most of our lives in North Carolina. When we saw the home and property, we knew it was a gem! Together, we completed most of the renovations ourselves and have thoroughouly enjoyed adding our personal touches to every bit of the property. We have three small children ages 5-13 and they too have had a hand in helping us plan the perfect spot for a family vacation. We added an addition onto the left side of the home in 2020 which includes the laundry room, half-bath, and primary suite. The sawmill on the property has been used to mill trees to add personal touches to the house, including the large front porch posts and fencing surrounding the barn. If we happen to have a chance to host you, our hope is that you and your family and/or friends enjoy the property as much as our family has. Other things to note Guests may enjoy the pool when it is open. We also have an outdoor shower (with hot & cold water) which is also open from mid-April to around the first week of October. It is usually still fairly warm in our area in September (average temp being 79 during the day and 65 at night) There is plenty of parking on the property. If you are traveling with a boat, RV, or camper we have the space for you. There is an outdoor fire pit for your enjoyment with plenty of seating space. We have a covered grilling area with a charcoal and gas grill located at the barn. There is also a picnic table making it a great place to hang out.
