Escape to a private 30 AC lakefront cabin near Statesville on Lookout Shoals. Enjoy your own dock, sandy beach, and great fishing, or bring your boat for easy lake access. This rustic 4BR, 2BA cabin is cozy, comfortable, and full of charm, perfect for unplugging and slowing down! Spend your days on the water and your evenings making s’mores by the fire pit under the stars. Dog friendly with plenty of space to roam, this secluded retreat offers the perfect mix of nature, privacy, and relaxation. The space Welcome to a truly special getaway in Statesville, a family owned lakefront cabin set on 30+ private acres along Lookout Shoals Lake. Built in 1948 by our grandfather, this rustic cabin carries decades of memories, from childhood adventures exploring the land to long summer days spent by the water. We are excited to share this meaningful place with you. The 4 bedroom, 2 bath cabin offers plenty of space for families and groups. On the main level, you will find two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Upstairs includes one private bedroom and a large family style sleeping space with three beds, along with a shared bathroom, making it perfect for kids or groups. We even provide a few fishing rods and tackle! ***While the home is older and rustic, it is cozy, comfortable, and full of charm. Step outside to experience what makes this property truly unforgettable, complete privacy, wide open land to explore, and direct lakefront access. Enjoy your private dock and sandy beach, spend your days fishing or boating, and wind down in the evenings around the fire pit under the stars. This is a place to slow down, unplug, and make lasting memories in a peaceful, natural setting, just like our family has for generations. This home has been in our family for generations and is over 80 years old. While we’ve made thoughtful updates to improve comfort, it still reflects its original character and rustic charm. You may notice some cosmetic imperfections, including staining on portions of the ceilings. These are purely aesthetic and are part of the home’s age. We are currently in the process of ongoing renovations, with ceiling updates planned next. If you’re looking for a polished, modern space, this may not be the right fit. But if you love the feeling of a cozy, lived-in cabin, something that feels a bit like camping mixed with staying at grandma’s house, filled with antiques and history, you’ll feel right at home here! We have a pest control company out regularly to spray for bugs, however this is a cabin in the middle of 30 acres in the woods beside a large body of water, we do our absolute best to prevent bugs from getting inside! Additionally this is acreage with wildlife, be mindful of nature and please make sure to watch your speed on the road as we would hate for someone to hit a deer or small animal. DOG POLICY: Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control at all times, and supervised. This is a 30+ acre property with wild animals, please do not leave dogs unattended due to skunks and cayotes in the area. Maximum of (2) dogs, up to 80 lbs each allowed (pet fee applies) All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations, and on flea & tick prevention Please clean up after your pet and keep pets off furniture and beds. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cabin and surrounding property to explore and enjoy, including the lakefront, private beach, and dock. Please note a few areas are not accessible for safety and personal use: One upstairs closet is reserved for owner storage The boathouse is not accessible and should not be climbed on The shooting range area is off-limits for guest safety We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep everyone safe while preserving this special property. Other things to note This is an Old cabin built by my Grandfather in 1948 after moving the cabin. We spent many summers here. Welcome to Turtle Hill! Our lake is beautiful and great for swimming, fishing, and relaxing, but please note that water levels can fluctuate up to 8 feet within a 24-hour period, which is controlled externally and not something we can manage. For your safety and comfort: We recommend wearing water shoes around the dock and shoreline, as natural debris and freshwater clams may be present No diving is allowed due to changing water depth This is a popular fishing lake, so please be mindful that fishing lures or hooks may occasionally be in the water Children 12 and under must wear life jackets on the dock. Non-swimmers must also wear life jackets. The property is not fenced and sits on a peninsula, so children must be supervised at all times. Some life jackets are provided, but bringing your own is recommended. There is no marina on the lake, so please plan ahead and bring any fuel or supplies you may need for your boat. We are dog friendly! Please be sure to review our pet policy and include details about your dog when booking. We hope you enjoy your stay at this peaceful, rustic lakefront cabin and make lasting memories at Turtle Hill.
