The locomotion can be by walking or by car inside the city, it's all very close by. To get to the city, the main airport for those who want to visit Itacaré is Ilhéus Airport (IOS), 75 km from the city. Another option for those who want to arrive by plane to Itacaré is the International Airport of Salvador(SSA), 270 km away via theItaparica ferry or 391 km via BR-101. By car to BR-101 is the main access for those who come from the southern region of the country. For those coming from the north region, the best access is through BA-001 itself. By bus if you leave Salvador the best and fastest option is to take the ferry boat to Itaparica Island and take the bus to Itacaré.
