Huge Family Home in Lake Geneva. Sleeps 10 Pet Friendly!
Description
Welcome to the Lake Geneva House — a 4-bedroom, 3-bath home built for the group trip that actually fits. Eight beds, ten plus sleepers, three full bathrooms, a finished basement with a billiard table, and a fully fenced yard that lets the dogs (and the kids) run while the adults take their coffee on the front patio. Fifteen minutes walk to downtown Lake Geneva and the lakefront path. Self check-in via smart lock — show up tired, find your bed. The space The Lake Geneva House is laid out so a large group actually fits — not crammed, not stacked, not "well, the kids can take the couch." THE FIRST FLOOR is the main living level. Open kitchen with full oven/range, dishwasher, wine fridge, and the cookware that actually means something: baking sheet, blender, hot-water kettle, wine glasses, dish towels you'd choose yourself. Big dining table that seats the whole group with elbow room. Two living rooms — the main one with TV and seating for movie night, and a second sitting area for the late-night card game or the breakaway phone call. FIRST FLOOR MASTER: king bed, walk-in closet, en-suite bathroom with double vanity and a jet tub deep enough to actually use. Two more first-floor bedrooms: one with a queen, one with two sets of bunk beds (great for kids or the bachelorettes who don't want to climb stairs at 1am). DOWNSTAIRS in the finished basement: full-size billiard table, a Murphy bed for the surprise plus-one (or two!), and the third full bathroom. This is where the loud half of the house goes when the bedrooms need quiet. OUTSIDE: fenced front yard with patio seating and a BBQ grill, plus the garage and private parking — easy for loading, easy for the cold-weekend gear haul, no fighting for street parking. BEST FOR: • Bachelorette and bachelor weekends (8–10 person groups, walking distance to bars) • Family reunions (kids in the bunk room, grandparents in the king, dog in the yard) • Group trips of 6–10 friends with a mix of couples and singles • Workcations for distributed teams (360 Mbps Wi-Fi, dedicated workspace, dining-room "war room") • Pet-loving travelers (fenced yard, up to 4 pets, $35/pet/night capped at $300) NOT IDEAL FOR: • Couples who want a small, intimate stay — the home is built for a crowd • Guests who need a single-floor layout (basement is stairs-only) • Anyone needing a hot tub on premises (we don't have one) You are Fifteen minutes' walk from downtown Lake Geneva — not ten minutes by car, a few minutes on foot. Walk down Broad St toward the lake, hit Wrigley Drive at the water, and turn left for the shore path that wraps the entire lake. WALK TO: • Lake Geneva lakefront path (15 min) • Downtown shops & restaurants — Egg Harbor Café, Sopra Bistro, Champs Sports Bar & Grill (15–18 min) • Kwik Trip for the snack run (5 min) • Library Park & the public beach (18 min) • Riviera Docks for boat rentals (18 min) SHORT DRIVE: • Yerkes Observatory (10 min) — historic, kid-friendly • Geneva National Golf Club (12 min) • Lake Lawn Resort & the Geneva Lake Beach (15 min) • Big Foot Beach State Park (8 min) — hiking, swimming, picnic shelters • Alpine Valley (40 min) — winter skiing, summer amphitheater concerts GETTING HERE: 90 min drive from downtown Chicago, 30 min from Milwaukee. Most Friday-night arrivals from Chicago land between 7–9pm — leave room for traffic on I-94. Guest access You get the whole house — every bedroom, both living rooms, the basement game room, the fenced yard, the porch, and both driveway and garage parking. There are no shared spaces and no host walk-throughs during your stay. CHECK-IN: Your smart-lock code arrives by message three days before arrival. Wi-Fi password is in the same message. Self check-in any time after 3:00 PM — no waiting on someone to meet you. DURING THE STAY: I (Bjorn) and my co-host Christine are reachable by message — average response under an hour. We do not enter the home unless you ask us to (e.g., for a clogged drain or a forgotten supply run). The Ring doorbell at the front is the only camera anywhere on the property — interior, basement, and backyard are camera-free. PARKING: Two cars fit inside the garage, two more in the paved driveway, and free unrestricted street parking is available right out front for any overflow. The garage opener is shared with the smart-lock code so you can haul gear in straight from the car on a rainy or cold arrival. LUGGAGE & GEAR: Coat hooks and a bench by the side-door (the standard arrival door from the garage), a luggage rack in the primary closet, and dedicated storage in each bedroom closet. Beach towels, umbrella, and snorkel gear live in the mudroom — grab them on the way out. GETTING HERE: 90 min drive from downtown Chicago, 30 min from Milwaukee. Most Friday-night arrivals from Chicago land between 7–9pm — leave room for traffic on I-94. Free private parking in the driveway and inside the attached garage — fits 2 cars. Free street parking is also available on the residential road out front (no permit needed). The garage opener is shared with guests, its left by the guidebook in the entryway. Other things to note CHECK-IN: After 3:00 PM. Self check-in with the smart lock — your code arrives 3 days prior to arrival. CHECKOUT: Before 11:00 AM. We do a same-day turn for the next guest, so keeping this is a real help. THE BASICS: • Maximum 10 guests • Quiet hours after 10:00 PM out of respect for neighbors — inside, do what you want • No events, parties, or large gatherings beyond your booked guest count • No smoking inside (smoking is fine outside on the patio) PETS: Up to 4 pets allowed, case-by-case approval before booking. $35 per pet per night, capped at $300 for the stay.
