*Studio in the garden* The Poolside Writer's Retreat - a self-contained cabana in the riverine suburb of Oatley in Sydney. Ideal for: - family & friends visiting Oatley people - reading, writing & resting. Minutes to: Oatley station - 16 on foot, 3 in the car City from Oatley station - 25 by train Sydney harbour - 45 Lovely garden. Bushland walks & river swims nearby, best accessed by car. No smoking on the property. The pool is shared with our family. Great business books to read. The space A self-contained cabana next to the pool in the hidden riverine suburb of Oatley. It is an architecturally designed home office and a quiet getaway from the buzz of Sydney. Best for one or two people on short visits. Comfy queen bed and bedding, a desk, a round table and chairs, a rustic bathroom, and kitchenette. Please note that there is no TV and no stovetop or oven, but the mini-kitchen has a microwave, kettle, sandwich maker, rice cooker, toaster and kettle. There is air-conditioning and a heater, but we encourage guests to enjoy the fresh air. With a view of the family pool, you'll enjoy the spectacular Australian birdlife, the occasional possum sighting if you are lucky, a spectacular bat fly out from the nearby forest, and lovely sunset light over glimpses of the river. - Big glass doors with no blinds. - Blinds on the windows that face the house. - A number of steps to access the Cabana (not easy if you have mobility challenges). NOTE - for fire safety and insurance purposes there is no stovetop or oven, no BBQ and no smoking allowed anywhere on the property. NOTE - because of the proximity of the pool this accommodation is not ideal for children. The pool is shared with our family. Wifi on request. Great for an academic, a business person, a writer or a couple. A peaceful place to think, write and relax. *Please respect the privacy of the office materials in the Retreat.* *You will be required to adhere to our strict rules about pool safety. * Guest access Guests have access to a lovely garden with seating spaces, some under cover - to eat, to read, to work.... Access to the Cabana is down a long driveway and some steps. Unfortunately the space is not wheelchair friendly. We welcome diversity The garden and pool are shared with our family, with enough space for everyone. Our family will use the pool and have access to the shed next to the Cabana during your stay. We require considerate and safe use of the pool. A pool fence separates the cabana from the pool, but it is not suitable for small children. Parking on the street Many author friends have provided their business books to read. Other things to note We like to host in the spirit of Airbnb - this is not a hotel. It is a hosted accommodation on our home property that we provide to share with community minded folk. The Poolside Writer's Retreat is ideal for people visiting Oatley residents (family and friends of local families who need somewhere to overnight). We love meeting people from all walks of life and from all over the world. We prefer that the retreat is used for brief periods by people who like to be in lovely space to read, write, listen to music, enjoy the wildlife and relax. Obviously no parties. Just sayin'.
