Description

Ever heard of Seven Dials? Nestled between Covent Garden and Soho, Leicester Square and Shaftesbury Avenue, in the very heart of London's famous West End. Read my reviews (100+ 5* in the past year, also Guest Favourite and Superhost) - they all love the incredible location. Many listings claim they're central. You've found one that actually is! And here's your chance to experience the best of London life, in this large ensuite room in my renovated apartment, right in the very centre of it all. The space The perfect location for exploring London by foot, and as central to London's tourist, shopping and nightlife hotspots as you can get. Read my reviews - nearly everyone talks about the location. Guests often tell me I've undersold it, and despite what I've written here they still can't believe the location when they arrive. Absolutely ideal for tourists - all of the following are within a ten minute walk: British Museum, National Gallery, Covent Garden Piazza, Soho, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, the River Thames, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, and all the major West End theatres. This is Seven Dials, a cute and quirky neighbourhood in north west Covent Garden, just a minute's walk from Soho, with a village feel centred on a sundial monument with seven streets radiating out from it. These seven streets are famously brimming with boutique shops and cafés, and since regular chain stores aren't permitted within a block of the sundial, it makes the area completely unique. It's bustling with life during the day, but surprisingly quiet at night - all the nearby pubs close at 11pm and the late-night clubs and bars, whilst close enough for you to easily walk home, are far enough away that there's usually little noise after midnight. Sometimes, in the dead of night, you can even hear Big Ben chiming, over a mile away. It's also very safe, both day and night. And that's just the area - let's talk about your room... Welcome to my apartment, which was recently fully renovated. The room is dominated by a king-sized solid wood bed handmade by the famous British bedmaker Warren Evans, with the highly-rated Emma mattress. Egyptian cotton bedding and towels from the renowned British department store John Lewis, including four big pillows. At the end of the bed there are two large openable windows overlooking the unique boutique stores of Seven Dials, either side of a wall-mounted Samsung LED TV showing dozens of channels. On the right is a floor-to-ceiling glass sliding patio door opening onto a Juliet balcony, making the room incredibly light and airy from two sides. Your en-suite private bathroom was rebuilt from scratch to my design - I tried to make it comparable to the best bathrooms I'd experienced in boutique hotels. Take a look at the photos and I hope you'll love it as much as I do. Your room includes a large desk and chair to work from. A glass-fronted drinks fridge, with a couple of complimentary welcome drinks in it. A kettle with organic Fairtrade-certified tea and coffee. A Dyson hot and cold fan, and a radiator. A hairdryer, an iron, and an alarm clock. And of course, free and unlimited high-speed wireless internet for all of your mobile phones, laptops and tablet devices. The room has ten power sockets (I provide converters to fit UK plugs), plus seven USB-A sockets and a USB-C socket powerful enough to charge laptops and tablets as well as phones. Please read the house rules - they are displayed just before you confirm your booking. If you're not using instant book, then if you quote the keyword phrase in the house rules, I will automatically accept you :-) Guest access This is my home, but your room and ensuite bathroom are very private, since you don't have to pass through my lounge or bedroom to get there. In general you won't have access to elsewhere in the apartment, so no kitchen or lounge access - but you'll have your own keys and can come and go as you please. When your booking is confirmed, I will send you a comprehensive welcome guide, including detailed arrival instructions by public transport from all London airports and Eurostar. I also offer a smaller room in the same apartment, which has a smaller bed and a bathroom shared with me - but it's usually a bit cheaper, so if you don't need the extra space and private bathroom then please take a look. To see it, click through my profile picture, or if you can't find it just send me a message and I'll send you the link. During your stay I'm very happy to help you kick off your London experience if I'm in town when you're staying, with a walk around the neighbourhood, breakfast, a beer or two (or more - us Brits know how to drink...) - whatever you feel like. If you want to keep yourself to yourself, that's perfectly fine too. I'm always just a Whats@pp away for help and advice, or just ideas on what to do next. Just let me know! Other things to note I'm a vegetarian and I request that you don't bring meat or fish products into the apartment; furthermore, fur is expressly forbidden, so you cannot bring fur into the apartment. There are dozens of cafés nearby catering to all palates and budgets. I'm gay, but very straight-friendly :-) I'm a nice guy and I'm happy to help you in any way I can to make your stay more enjoyable. I've lived in central London most of my adult life and I'm happy to advise on things to see and do. I've created a whirlwind two-hour circular walking tour covering many of the major sights that I can send you on (or perhaps even join you on) - first-time visitors to London usually love it. And it certainly doesn't take much to persuade me to join you in the pub! If three of you are staying and you don't all want to share the king bed, there is a single floor mattress that can be set up next to it. Note that the floor mattress is not usually available otherwise - if you would like it for two guests please discuss with me before booking. Seven Dials has always been in fashion. Let's leave the last word to Charles Dickens, here's what he had to say about Seven Dials back in 1835: "What involutions can compare with those of Seven Dials? Where is there such another maze of streets, courts, lanes, and alleys? The stranger who finds himself in 'The Dials' for the first time, and stands at the entrance of seven obscure passages, uncertain which to take, will see enough around him to keep his curiosity and attention awake for no inconsiderable time. From the irregular square into which he has plunged, the streets and courts dart in all directions."
