Restful getaway in friendly Peacock Point

Nestled in the quaint lakeside community of Peacock Point, Restwood Cottage is a cozy seasonal home along the south shore of Lake Erie. An easy drive from the GTHA and the Niagara region, enjoy the fresh air, lake breeze and the small-town charm of the surrounding counties. Restwood Cottage is set up perfectly for families, couples or small groups looking for a relaxing getaway and place to rest and recharge. The space Restwood Cottage boasts a tastefully decorated farmhouse-inspired interior, complete with high ceilings finished in striking reclaimed wood. The cottage is clean and bright, equipped with everything you need for a restful vacation. We continue to update the cottage with improvements to interior, exterior and amenities. The master bedroom features a queen bed, and the second bedroom features a twin-over-full bunk bed and additional twin bed. We do not provide linens to guests. Please supply your own bedding, pillows and personal towels. The dining table comfortably seats six, with additional benches throughout the cottage if needed. Booster seats and a pack-n-play are available if needed - please inquire. The bathroom features a renovated shower. Hand soap is provided; personal toiletries are not. The kitchen is fully stocked with a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, blender, 12-cup coffee maker, kettle, all cooking utensils and bakeware, glasses, dinnerware and kids' dinnerware. Olive oil, salt, pepper and a selection of spices are provided for your use. Dish soap and cleaning supplies are available. WIFI is available throughout the cottage, and there is a television with Chromecast available to cast your favourite entertainment apps to the TV (Netflix, Disney+, etc.). Select books and games are provided but we are still adding to our collection. There is an air conditioning unit and heating unit, as well as a woodstove. Please inquire in advance if you plan to use the woodstove. The backyard is large and open, with a boundary fence surrounding the yard (not fully enclosed), a firepit, six outdoor chairs and a propane barbecue with utensils. The surrounding community offers delicious restaurants, charming stores, boat launches and marinas, walking trails and much more. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cottage and yard within fence. The driveway offers two parking spaces, suitable to park a vehicle and a boat. Peacock Point is a friendly community, with a general store/cafe serving coffee, tea, light meals and ice cream. The open park area has play structures, a sandbox and swings for children. The cottage is located a five-minute walk from access to Lake Erie. While water levels have been too high for a beach in recent years, the lake access in Peacock Point has a very small rocky area that is swimmable on calm lake days. Bring water shoes! We are a quick five-minute drive from the Selkirk Provincial Park, where there is a sandy beach, and 20 minutes from the beach in Port Dover. Other things to note Basic household essentials such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap and cleaning supplies are available. We do not provide personal essentials/amenities such as shampoo or body soap, bedding or personal towels. Firewood is not provided. Please be respectful of our septic system and please use water conservatively.
