Description

The Summer House is situated in the Yorkshire Dales National park, a 5 minute walk from the railway station ideal for walkers, (no problem with muddy wellies or dog hairs) stop offs and timeout, relaxing in comfort. Only three miles from Settle, on the way to the Lake District, Three Peaks, Malham Cove and Grassington all within easy reach. This village is ideally suited, with a pub and post office at hand. Wine and cheese hamper on request with parking for a car and/or bike. The space The Summer House (Dog house) is detached, small and compact, situated in The Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is an ideal place to get away from it all and the perfect place to relax and lay your head. If you love the great outdoors but also crave homely comfort, this house is your perfect destination, with your own locked private entrance, the Summer house captures nature in a clean and comfortable way, including black out curtains. There is free parking on premises for a medium sized car and parking facilities available nearby the property. Also a cycle shed. A general grocery/post office is at hand as well as a pub. - Dogs (1 or 2) are definately welcome with their beds provided as well as food and drinking bowls. (Please do not leave them unattended) There is a hose pipe at hand, if required and a muddy paw bath. Please note: although the bed is King size as well as the mattress. There is a slight gap on either side of the mattress. I’m not sure why, other than I bought the bed from IKEA in France and the mattress here. Please be aware that the property is very dog friendly and cleaned thoroughly after use. Therefore if by chance you find the odd dog hair is overlooked, please inform me. To keep on top of any hairs I always tumble dry the bedding and aquavac the whole floor. The bedding is thick cotton/linen and therefore has natural creases in it. I use spray iron for the pillowcases on top with ironed ones underneath. Spare duvet under the bed. Also, please keep me informed of arrival time, due to safety and please conserve energy. 🙏 I’m Guest access Guests access through their own locked gate by accessing the key from the key safe on the wall. Parking for an average sized car through the gates or plenty of parking nearby. Parking through the gates and on the land of the host, is done so at the owners risk and the host accepts no responsibility. A bike shed is also available. No steps only gravel to gate. All on one level. Other things to note Please arrive after 12 noon and leave before 10.00 am. Please keep me informed of arrival time regarding safety. Everything is at hand and easy and compact. The water is lovely to drink as it’s spring water. Guests staying only one night will be offered a choice of towel set OR bath sheets. More than one night guests will be supplied with both. I can provide a hamper of Kick Ass cheese and biscuits with chutney and wine at a cost of £35. (1 week notice) Merlot or Savignon Blanc and 2 x 200g cheese truckles, 130g cheese biscuits and 200/190g of chutney, if you fancy a treat. Please see Please leave comments in the book in the room. Tea/ coffee and milk/ sugar available , as well as a shop across the road which sells fresh milk, groceries and alcohol as well as great bacon/sausage butties etc for breakfast. Also there is a dog bed/s water bowl/s towels, blanket and Poo bags for your pup as well as doggy treats (Please note there is a £5 fee per dog per night. Please do not leave dogs unattended) There is also an outside kennel if required. A fan heater is provided but PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE UNATTENDED. There is also a dehumidifier (which blows cool air and is for use between bookings) and a fan. I will pop in weekly to clean etc , bed change as requested if staying longer as well as top up supplied necessities. Hose pipe at hand for muddy paws along with paw tray. Dog fee is £5 per pet per night. Any damage must be paid for. First aid box at hand. Anything more serious please inform me. Fire extinguisher and smoke detector in situ. WiFi password is-LXt9paWEbenPfPLU PLEASE DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE MODEM, IT IS ON A LINK AND REQUIRES TIME. THANK YOU. Although the shower is small it is new, compact and appropriate or the size of the dwelling. TV set up code is 1234. Please would you mind putting any rubbish you have into the green bin at the front of the house? If the toilet bowl appears to have a yellow tinge, it is the bleach that I use when cleaning. 🙏 WIFI LXt9paWEbenPfPLU Very happy to arrange a special occasion if required. (see events room pics) 🙏 Christmas in the Dales: ( see photo) The Doghouse is the ideal place to be at Christmas. Lovely crisp walks and cosy and warm when it’s cold outside! Over Christmas ( throughout December) as well as the Christmas Markets of Skipton and Settle along with the ‘All creatures great and small’ scenery of Grassington as well as the National Park, there will be a Christmassy feel and welcome in the Doghouse. Including chocolate baubles on the tree, along with a bottle of mulled wine and mince pies. Enjoy! ❤️
