This lovely, characterful flint cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or couples trip to this beautiful area in the South Downs National park. Perfectly set in a walled garden in a friendly, quiet village, within walking distance of Lewes town, with its independent cinema, pubs, restaurants and excellent shopping. Easy access to walks and bike rides on the South Downs, to Lewes and neighbouring villages. Peaceful and pretty private garden with fire pit and sitting areas to enjoy. The space The cottage is a cosy haven with lots of character. Recently renovated with new ground source underfloor heating and everything you need for a comfortable home from home. The ground floor is mostly open plan but with different areas to work or relax. A bright airy kitchen and a sitting room with log burner, smart TV and a real LP player. Two bathrooms, one downstairs with a shower and one upstairs with a small free standing bath. Two lovely bedrooms with incredibly comfortable double beds. A well equipped kitchen furnished with our own handmade pottery and plenty of original art. Guest access The cottage and garden are completely self contained within the garden of our home. We may occasionally have to access the greenhouse or mow the lawn or water outside plants, but otherwise it is entirely private to you. Access is via a gate in the wall from the lane outside, where there is ample free parking. Other things to note We are near to Lewes, Glyndebourne Opera House, Charleston Farmhouse, Virginia Woolf’s home, Monks House in Rodmell. There are two pubs within 25 minutes walk and Lewes itself is about a 40 minute walk. There are beaches not too far away, in Seaford or Brighton, which is about 25 mins or so by car. Lewes train station is about 7 mins away in a car or taxi and has direct links to London Victoria (1 hour and 5 mins) and Gatwick (30 mins). There are many wonderful options for walking and we are very close to the South Downs Way.
