Historic J. Pyle House Main St Location Pets OK!

The J. Pyle House, built in 1844, is in the National Historic District of Kennett Square, PA. We are in the heart of walkable downtown Kennett Square and a quick 6 minute drive to Longwood Gardens. The townhome has been lovingly restored to reflect its mid-19th century roots, while providing an updated, cozy place to relax while visiting our quaint town. 45 min to the PHL airport, 25 min to Wilmington, DE, 25 min to West Chester University, 6 min to Longwood Gardens 15 min to Winterthur The space Guests can park in the garage behind the house (1 spot in garage and 1 spot parallel in front of garage) and enter through the back gate, down the paver path onto the concrete patio to the back door. Alternatively, guests can park on the free 2 hr street parking out front except for street cleaning Friday mornings between 2-5 a.m and during special events or weather related closures. There are Eufy smart locks on the front and back doors with keyless entry features. There is a covered front patio overlooking State Street (our main street!), great for coffee and people watching, outfitted with two lounge chairs and a small table. The front door opens off the patio into an eclectic, cozy living room with a boucle designer sofa, two mid-century style armchairs and a vintage cobbler’s bench as a coffee table. There is a 55” smart Roku TV ready for your streaming services logins, as well as a few games including Jenga, Battleship, Scrabble, Monopoly, Guess Who?, Pick-Up-Stix, decks of cards and tons of books. Walking through the living room you enter the dining room outfitted with four refinished vintage Cesca chairs, a modern table, sideboard and two spare dining chairs. There is a coat closet with spare umbrellas in the dining room as well. Through the dining room is the bright kitchen featuring vintage inspired tile flooring, shaker cabinets and walnut butcher block countertops. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates, mugs, cutlery, cooking tools, spices, olive oil, Keurig coffee machine, k-cup coffee pods, French press, tea, electric kettle, creamers, sugar, etc. There is also various barware including cocktail glasses and a martini shaker. Exiting the kitchen through the back door there is a small concrete patio with a 2 burner Weber propane grill and grill tools. The fenced in backyard has four Adirondack chairs and a small fire pit. Firewood is available upon advance request. On the second floor there is one queen bedroom and one king bedroom. The primary king bedroom features two closets, a Casper memory foam mattress, designer pillows, luxury cotton linens, a vintage rug, work area table and views of the new Kennett Library. The queen bedroom features a Zinus Green Tea foam mattress, luxury cotton linens, a dresser, side chair and a closet. Both bedrooms on this level have overhead ceiling fans. There is one shared bathroom on the second floor featuring an oversized single sink vanity, designer fixtures, a fully tiled walk-in shower, NATIVE shampoo, conditioner, body wash, designer hand soap, tissues, Cottonelle toilet paper and plenty of fluffy towels. Please note-this is a historic home that has it's quirks! The stairs are steeper than that of a new build home. On the third floor there are two standard size twin beds, luxury cotton linens, designer rugs, a desk, a youth air hockey table, a desk overlooking State Street and a closet. There is a small overhead ceiling fan on this level as well. NO CATS ALLOWED (please! I have a severe cat allergy). Dogs OK with prior approval and an additional cleaning fee. Please make sure the dog is on your reservation. Guest access The Eufy smartlock code will be sent with check in instructions. Please be sure to lock the house upon departure. Other things to note **Quiet hours observed from 9pm - 7am** **Please take extra caution when going up and down the stairs** **No cats allowed** **No smoking on the property. There is a $500.00 smoking fee** **No events. No parties** **Washer and dryer access is available in the unfinished basement. No children allowed in the basement please** **Window air conditioning units installed April-October** **Additional House cleaning can be arranged for stays over 14 days**
